Dita Von Teese, a.ka. the ‘Queen of Burlesque,’ performed her famous champagne glass strip tease at Toronto’s big Fashion Cares event over the weekend.
The theme for Fashion Cares this year was ‘Peep,’ with the spirit of the event being “watch or be watched.” The MAC-sponsored AIDS fundraiser was indeed a sumptuous and decadant spectacle of corsets, lingerie, and retro glamour.

What in the hell did she do to her waist? That is nasty! That is not attractive to have your hips sticking out like that from a 10” middle.

Yes more like a martini glass I guess. I’ve seen her perform this act and it really is pretty cool to watch. She’s done it so many times now that she’s got it down to a fine art. She has got other acts that she performs in her own shows but for benefits and one off performances she is probably asked to perform her most popular which is this one.
Girlfriend spends waaaayyy too much money on rhinestones for her costumes. Rhinestones are great, but there is a point where it’s overkill.
no it is a champagne glass- its an antique champagne glass shape. i’m no huge fan of dita’s but it certainly looks like she puts on a hell of a show! she seems to do quite a bit of charity work as well..
Yes, that is a class champagne glass. The tall, narrow style of champagne glass used more commonly today is called a flute. It is considered an improvement because it slows down the release of the CO2 bubbles, keeping the champagne sparkly longer. Good grief, I can’t believe I had to explain that. How old are you guys? 14? 15?

The shape of the glass that Just Askin’ is referred to is a “coupe”, said to have been formed from Marie Antoinette’s breasts. I prefer it over the flute, it’s so much more elegant. And yes, Tiffany, that is real fur…DUH!
i think that anyone who wears fur is disgusting
