American Idol champ Carrie Underwood helped open up the 50th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night with a high energy performance of her chart topping hit Before He Cheats.
In an attempt to play with the big girls of Top 40 pop music, the blonde-haired country music superstar threw on some skimpy short-shorts matched with a pair of sparkly knee-high boots more expected from the likes of Hilary Duff.

It may have been my TV adjustment but the music was loud and kind of overpowered her voice tonight. It’s a great song but i’m tired of hearing it…..

Strong performance. I’m not generally a fan of country music, but this song was decent.

I thought that was a really good performance from her. I think she looks really hot and her voice sounded really strong. I wish she would stand up straight though, she seemed to be squatting the entire time.

I’d never heard the song before but I thought the lyrics were hilarious. I actually enjoyed this and MIGHT download it to my iPod.

I think her performance could’ve had a little more energy but she was trying to maintain her voice. The outfit was great but all I could think of was how much crap Shania Twain used to get. She wore the same sexy stuff but caught hell for it when clearly she was just paving the way.

Wow, she was so good. She is so talented. Better than Amy or stupid Beyonce. I guess I underestimated her.

Her performance was great, people are being haters because they don’t like her personally, but homegirl can sing!

Let’s face it Carrie was not the best performance of the night. She’s gorgeous and it was a passionate performance, but her vocal ability was weak. She was pitchy. You’ll notice the music gets loud when she’s unsure of her pitch. She did however end strong. I give it a B-

It sure takes a great artist to be able to switch up her music and give it a new sound and feeling….I loved how she was able to take the song to the next level……..
