Talk about crossing the line!
A PETA activist got into designer’s Donna Karan’s house and showed her a video, much to the designer’s surprise and dismay.
When Karan, who has been targeted by PETA throughout Fashion Week for using fur in her designs, finally came home, she was accosted by the infiltrator, who immediately turned on a graphic DVD of animals being harvested for their pelts.A horrified Karan said, “I can’t watch this now. I have somewhere to be . . . I just really don’t have the time.” When the PETA lady protested, Karan said, “I’ve seen all these [videos], but for me it’s just purses and accessories.”
That prompted the PETA woman to shoot back, “But for me and millions of other people, these are animals. They suffer terribly as they are electrocuted, gassed and skinned alive for their pelts.”
According to McGraw, Karan said, “Look, nobody loves their dogs like I do . . . I feel like my privacy is being invaded. How did you get in here?” Then she walked away.
The house manager then told the infiltrator, “Whatever you were trying to do, you can forget about it,” before screaming at the doormen for letting the prankster in.
Karan didn’t get back to us, but PETA isn’t letting up. As the designer displays her collection today at her showroom on Greenwich Street, protesters wearing Donna Karan masks will be outside bludgeoning bloodied stuffed rabbits.
While we love animals and we’d do anything to protect them, breaking and entering is where we cross the line!

Skinning animals alive for accessories is where I draw the line! Please. Have a heart. What these poor animals have to endure for a lousy purse is horrific. Donna Karan is a cold hearted bitch.
I have said a thousand times that PeTA is full of crazy idiots that don’t have a clue about the fur industry. The Fur Information Council of America (FICA) has the facts. Educate yourself before you end up as crazy and stupid as this woman who will be going to jail.
When people protest abortion clinic’s they are called all kinds of things, and made fun of in the media. To me these are animals, people have been wearing fur for ever, (cave men) animals are killed on the roads (road kill) they are killed for food, this is part of life, the circle of life mind you. Get over it!!!
Nobody skins animals alive! That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. PETA makes the videos of the animals being skinned alive as shock videos to get the followers of the world to join them. You really should educate yourselves because believing anything PETA says shows your lack of knowledge. It is funny how easily women will fall for their propoganda because of emotion not intelligence. Come on-you are smarter than that!
get the facts straight, heather. do your research. they skin animals alive, toss “non-usable” animals (alive) in a pile left to die, torture and abuse them, house them in deplorable conditions… i can go on. learn before you speak.

wouldnt be no fur coats to wear if the industry that buys these furs and sells them didnt do that! go after the ones that actually kill and sell the fur… better yet get a damn life… they go after dogfighters.. go after the rooster fighters , they are animals too! boy oh boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HATE PETA
If we are going to talk about torture, let’s talk about Ms. Karan’s face. She was never a beauty, but lordy, is time taking a toll on her face.
And there’s no reason for her to look this wretched. She has access to the finest hairstylists/makeup artists in this country. Why the hell is she not enlisting their services?
And as far as Ms. Karan’s ethics go, well, I can’t wholeheartedly agree with PETA’s tactics, but by god, perhaps she’d change her flippant attitude about “animals are accessories” if someone skinned one of her beloved pups and presented it to her as a purse. Bitch can’t talk about loving animals out of one side of her mouth and then heartlessly call them accessories out of the other side…
So when exactly did animals and humans become equal species?!?!? PETA and their followers are wack jobs. The whole argument is so fucking tired already. Either wear fur or don’t and leave it at that.

I love my dogs as if they are my children but I think PETA goes way too far. Those people are basically domestic terrorists and should be treated that way. Put them in jail now before they kill somebody.

i dont get it. why skin a poor creature when we can get faux fur that is (almost) as soft and warm as real fur.

Yep, I agree with you eek. I have synthetic pillows that are some of the softest things around. It’s so ridiculous and fucking greedy to keep killing animals. And may I just say while I do not necessarily support the method. I do support the message. I had already added my name to PETA’s petition against Karan last week. If she has refused to see the ugly truth behind her deeds then shame of her. I effin’ hate people who keep one eye closed in life to get what they want. Selfish woman.
Look I am all for PETA and I sign their petitions and spread the word about animal cruelty as much as I can, but breaking into somebody’s house and forcing them to watch something they are obviously not interested in is going too far! That’s ridiculous! Donna Karan’s comment about just seeing acessories is very obnoxious and ignorant though and of course that was going to rile up the intruder, damn it would rile me up. You cannot force your beliefs about animal cruelty onto someone that ignorant though, no matter how right you are.
If you think its cruel, don’t buy items that have fur or leather on them. Oh and if your fat, eat less calories…and while your at it, if you are in debt…..spend less than you bring in.
