JUST WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?

According to Dr. Vatsal G. Thakkar, a psychiatrist at New York University medical center gave his view on these latest findings:
“Six different sedative drugs in Heath Ledger’s system show something was amiss. Whether that was in taking combinations of drugs without proper medical guidance or sloppy prescribing, it was an unfortunate situation and with a tragic outcome.”
Uh-oh….something tells us this story has only just begun.
Could irresponsible doctors who cater to the whims and wishes of high-powered celebs be responsible for Heath’s tragic and unnecessary death? I mean, aren’t a string of six different prescription drugs — many of them codeine-based — a recipe for disaster?
Stay tuned!

ALL THOSE DOCTORS SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR ACCESSORY TO MURDER.

I would have to say it is HEATHS fault, and only his.
ONE doctor wouldnt have gave him all of these.
A COMBINATION of doctors, NOT KNOWING what else he was on would have gave these to him.
Sorry to say, it was HIS OWN fault for not letting the doctors know.

And what happens when the patient (who is an ADDICT) goes to different doctors and doesn’t disclose information about other medications prescribed from OTHER doctors. This is a stupid question being posed here and I wish people would just get a damn clue. Heathe Ledger was a grown man who knew the risks associated with taking ANY drugs into his system because he was an ADDICT (fact folks - he was treated for addiction). That means that when you knowingly abuse any substance (prescribed or not), you assume the risk (again, especially if you’re an addict). Can we move on from this stupid fucking topic already?

ITA with She Rides a Harley. People who are addicts or dependent on meds often visit different doctors to get the prescriptions and don’t divulge what other meds they’re on because if they do, a good doctor would not give them more. You can’t mix drugs willy-nilly and sadly he did.

THANK YOU, supernova. You said it all right there. And ‘She Rides A Harley’, if that were true in every case then explain how Anna Nicole was able to get her hands on all those drugs from the same doctor. Oh, and Chris Benoit is another one. There are some shady people out there who will write prescriptions all day long for the right amount of $$$$$.

Where’s the personal responsibility??? He was a grown man people.

I agree with SheRides and supernova…….if he was going to different docs, then how would they know he had other meds prescribed?

ANS—-had MANY bottles UNDER different names.
If your an addict, you will go to any lenghts to get “high” relief” what ever you will call it.
And they both died from it, didnt they?

how about …. Could an irresponsible celeb who catered to his own whims and wishes be responsible for his own tragic and unnecessary death?
February 6th, 2008 at 11:25 am
his fault - unless any of the doctors knew what was going on and didn’t try to fix the problem

My point is that regardless of how many aliases Anna Nicole used, the SAME doctor still prescribed all ELEVEN of the drugs that killed her. And again, the doctor who was doping up Chris Benoit was giving him a year’s worth Rx at a time. Yes, people go to different doctors to avoid being caught but there are also doctors who will prescribe a slew of drugs to the same person. So no one can say with any certainty that one doctor would not have given Heath Ledger all these drugs. No one knows what the circumstances were.

Exactly, supernova. It’s called “drug-seeking behavior” (ever watch “House”?) and is NOT any doctor’s fault. I heard he obtained scrips from Australia, England, and the USA. Anyone who, in the first place, has such a pharmacopeia of drugs in their house has, at the very least, an addictive personality, and is knowledgeable about their use/effects.
Accidental? “Hmm, not tired yet. I’ll take one more. Oops, not tired yet. One of these pretty blue ones now. Dang, still not tired! How’s about two of these psychadelic ones? Eventually I’ll get tired, or very very happy.”
However, I have a bad feeling–sounds like Heath’s dad is going to try and pin blame on doctors…In Anna Nicole’s case, yeah, there are some sleazebag doctors who will knowingly write scrips for tons of things for the same patient. But I know I can’t even just walk into any doctor’s office, say I’m having trouble sleeping, and expect a scrip. Nowadays doctors are on the lookout for “drug-seeking behavior” and are VERY wary of it.

according to cnn, 2 were pain killers, 2 were for anti anxiety and 2 were for sleep.

by the way, my mom has 4 different pills prescribed to her for anti anxiety and sleep (plus others for other health issues) and she’s always mixing them up - scary

Ok I really think it needs to be left alone now. The toxicology report has come back as an accident and his family seem to be happy to accept that. Give them some respect and stop trying to turn somebody else’s tragic loss into a juicy conspiracy. None of us were there, we don’t know what happened but we do know that he is dead. Let him rest in peace.
