HEATH’S FATHER SPEAKS

Two weeks after the sudden death of his son and only moments after a New York City medical examiner concluded that he died as a result of acute intoxication, Heath Ledger’s father Kim has released a statement:
“We remain humble as parents and a family, among millions of people worldwide who may have suffered the tragic loss of a child. Few can understand the hollow, wrenching and enduring agony parents silently suffer when a child predeceases them. Today’s results put an end to speculation, but our son’s beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts.
While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath’s accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage.”
Truer words have never been spoken.

I guess I would play the “my kid did nothing wrong card” also.
But at some point, you have got to wake up !!
His kid was seeing more than ONE doctor. Taking a SHIT LOAD of pills.
ANYONE with any common sence would tell you NOT to take an upper with a downer….right?
Unless, they just didnt care anymore.
Some people just cant handle the truth.

You didn’t post the whole statement. Seriously Aretso, out of respect for Heath and his family, if you’re going to post a statement from the family, at least post the whole thing (it wasn’t that much longer but it was very eloquent and relevant — if you can post a dozen photos of Britney getting a cappucino every day, you could certainly have posted the sentiments of a grieving family over a celebrity who was at least much respected). Damn. Wtf?

Oh, man. The “our boy” just killed me. Broke my heart. I think this statement and Michelle’s earlier statement have been incredibly classy but very moving at the same time. Real models of how to handle tragedy that plays out on a public stage.

Oh so sad. Mr Ledger spoke really well and I agree with you giftbox that all the statements made by him and Michelle have been really classy and moving. They are going through such a hard time and I wouldn’t even be able to speak let alone write such a great statement. I think they are handling this really well, take note Anna Nicole’s mother. My thoughts and prayers really go out to them.
