Acute intoxication.
The New York City Medical Examiner has ruled that Heath Ledger died accidentally, “as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.”
It was ruled that Heath’s death was an “accident,” resulting from the “abuse of prescription medications.”
Tragic. Prescription pills tragically take the life of yet another star all too soon.

Okay, I did some resurch and here is what they are onycodone, pain pills- for his head aches from being sick, hydrocodone, same, diazepam valium-anxiety,temazepam sleeping pills, alaprazolam- Xanax anxiety, and doxylamine- allergy releif, being sick. ABC news states they were in small doses, just mixed wrong, with his sleeping problems, anxiety problems (which are one in the same) and him being sick, he was given the medication, because he needed them, they were just mixed together which is what caused the problem. I don’t think he did this on purpose. If that were the case the bottles wouldn’t have been full!!!!

I’m with anonymous…….who accidentally takes that many pills?!?!??! Yes, I believe his death was an accident but no one takes Oxycontin and hydrocodone for headaches. Sorry Carrie, but that’s just plain reckless. And I know the report says the drugs were not taken in excess but were mixed wrong. Well…you don’t mix SIX prescription drugs, period. That’s a cocktail of death.

Did he mix all those by “accident”? knowing full well they were not supposed to be taken together? “Small amounts” of a huge number of drugs. I am sure the codene would have helped with his sleeping problems anyhow. Wait why would he be anxious/sleepless if he was sick? If I am sick I sleep like a baby and don’t have a care in the world but to get better.

Well, not heroin but he was a druggie, no one takes that kind of mix unless they are dying of bone mets or trying to get a buzz on. Tragic waste of a young life.

It is common knowledge that when he was in Toronto last summer Heath would barracade himself in hotel rooms and get stoned off of coke and what have you. At one point he wasn’t even hiding it - he was doing it on the balcony of the hotel. He even had ‘runners’ to get the drugs for him in bags….His family and ex is simply protecting him. Michelle apparently knew and that was part of the break up. It’s pretty much common knowledge not to combine meds. Trust me he didn’t just take one of each of the said drugs. He probably took a few of each. Oxydodone is a powerful painkiller that gives you a great high….Valium is a sedative…those were two of the drugs they found in him….it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to consider these drugs may not mix well with one another. Most of hollywood is on Oxy. Isn’t it known as Hillbilly Heroine???? Just saying….don’t be naive people. His death WAS an accident, it was not suicide,but he probably regularly abusee drugs but this time it caught up with him…..suddently he is ‘father of the year’. Rest in peace…

As for myself - I am not surprised by what you say Keller. But I am tired of the “Let him (them) rest in peace” notes and hypocracy when I am not sympathetic to this blue eyed guy. Many defend him by saying he wanted to keep his life private. But they don’t know about what he was keeping private - he was no Tom Hanks it seems. How on earth do you learn from other people’s mistakes if you don’t have the facts.

Anybody who has a drug habit will tell you that, crushed and mixed any of those combinations will give you a major buzz. I guess Heath didnt realise he went overboard and in the result, it killed him. Look up some of the drugs ingredients, what do you see, opiates.
And please explain, why did Mary Kate send in her bodyguards? To remove the evidence, or course.

So so sad. I know that Heath had his problems but I really didn’t think he ever wanted to end his life on purpose. I honestly think that he was just having a bad day and couldn’t get any sleep, went and tried to take a nap before his massage and just combined the wrong pills. And those sleeping pills he had added to whatever he was on for his pneumonia just killed him. It’s so tragic and I wish people would stop trying to turn it into this big conspiracy with MK trying to take drugs away and all that shit. Take it for what it is- a tragic accident. Even if that isn’t what happened that is what his family want to beleive and the media and all of us need to respect that and now let Heath rest in peace.

Either he killed himself because playing the joker was so fucked up or he got too hi of of something. The overdose is just a cover-up. I mean how many people take that many pills. He was a stoner and it caught up with him i totally agree with keller.
