MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY DOES THE ‘TODAY SHOW’

Matthew McConaughey continues his endless promo campign for his latest romantic comedy, Fool’s Gold, by hitting up the Today Show in New York City on Tuesday.

He was supposed to yap about his new sure-to-be box office smash costarring Kate Hudson, but the 38-year-old dad-to-be only had fatherdom on his mind.

Matthew on his eagerness to show the world to his first child: “Well, that child is probably going to fill his passport pretty quickly. Culture and travel’s been the best education I’ve had in my life and my child’s going to have that, hopefully.”

Matthew on his babymama, Brazilian beauty Camila Alves: “It’s the first woman that I’ve met that I haven’t met through friends. That doesn’t really happen too often. I saw her across the room and I couldn’t get my eyes off of her. So I invited her over and started making a margarita and then I noticed right away that this was not the kind of girl you just want to wave over. So I got my butt out of the chair, went over there and introduced myself and said, ‘You can come over and bring any of your friends you want to back to our table.’ And that’s what kind of got her to come over in the first place. And I haven’t wanted to ask anyone else out for the last two years.”

Matthew on how fatherhood may affect his nomadic lifestyle: “I do have a trailer. So I can pull it up to any backyard on any coast I want to. I worked hard to get a lifestyle and live in a place where I don’t have to wear a shirt or shoes. I’m going to keep working on it so I can put myself on a beach somewhere on the planet. Yeah, I enjoy the sunshine and I enjoy the summertime.”

    You know, as much crap he gets for going sans shirt and his (former) mountain man appearance…I gotta respect his last answer. Isn’t that what we’re all working for (generally speaking)?

    I can totally relate to his last answer. I don’t live in a trailer by the beach but I do live in a house by the beach and that’s pretty much why I work…to keep the beach lifestyle that I love so much and that reminds me of my upbringing in Australia. Living life barefoot and being able to get up and go for a run or a surf in the morning is the best thing in the world, whether its here in Malibu or back home.
    I really like Matthew, I see a lot of my boyfriend in him which is probably why. I think he has a hot as body and a gorgeous smile.
