The appropriate signatures have signed the dotted line and Britney Spears will remain hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center for another 14 days.
Only her psychiatrist would have the authority to request an extension. Brit could get out early if she makes a legal demand or her doctor says she is well enough for outpatient treatment.

Hopefully there will be another review after 14 days, and they will keep her longer. I don’t think 2 weeks is enough time for her to straighten out her shit………I believe that is the general consensus here, minus a few Gung-Ho Britney commenters.

Thank God she’s finally getting treatment. Unfortunately, with bipolar, accepting that you’re not well doesn’t generally make coping with the disease any easier.

At least she’s getting help whether she likes it or not. There are plenty of crazies in Hollywood they are just more adept at hiding it. I hope when she comes back (AFTER A LOT MORE THERAPY AND TREATMENT THAN TWO WEEKS) she quits showbiz and tries to start afresh and maybe work on getting her kids back. That is ridiculously idealistic but hey, I just feel sorry for her now. She’s just a sad pathetic mess.

Oooo goodbye and good riddance is a little harsh I think. Saying anything like that about somebody who is in such a fragile state as her is just dangerous and disrespectful in my opinion. She’s a sick girl and she’s finally getting the help she needs….this is a good thing, why do people have to be nasty about it? Thank goodness she is staying in there for the two weeks! This is just what she needs and hopefully two weeks without her crazy life will give her some time to think about things and realise that she’s in the right place.
She needs the break. I don’t actually hate Brit. She’s not just a shallow immoral bitch like, say, Paris. She has genuine mental problems. Possibly brought on by drug use, but still. And how come Tom Cruise isn’t making an appearance to save her through Scientology?
