I agree this is a little creepy. I though that they wanted to live a quite life out of the public eye. This kind of act doesn’t really do this. She should just have talked to the media at the SAGS and confirmed her pregnancy. Look at how classy Halle has been about her pregnancy. The dress and PDA at the table was just a ploy for attention. Honestly this couple is so desperate for attention it is sad. Notice how all the other A-listers came single. All the female leads except Angie came single. These great actresses try to keep their private life private. Perhaps Brad and Angie should do the same. This is really becoming a circus of their making. and they have enough money of their own at 20 million a movie to give without selling stories about their children. They need to take lessons from Matt, and Johnny.

Also, Brad and Angie know that their lives get misconstrued and words get twisted… so, it’s probably best to be in control of how information gets leaked to the press… if they use the money for charity, then all the more good. If a story that’s gonna be told anyway can allow for a charity to collect assistance, then what’s the problem?

I love how everything cloaked in charitable deeds is considered a good thing. It is not a good thing to whore your kids for charity especially when both parents are multi-millionaires in their own right and can give without subjecting their children to being moneymakers for the paparazzi. If they want to give to charity then they should out of their pockets. They’ve sold Shiloh, Pax and now probably this baby to the media, why? because they want to be charitable? A simple statement of “I am pregnant” need not be paid for regardless of whether a charity benefits or not. A more patronising pair when it comes to charitable deeds, I have yet to see. There is nothing charitable here just a pair of narcisist looking for attention.

In reply. Johnny rarely takes his wife with him. She never comes to movie premieres. She has come to the Oscars or other very important events but that is it. Also he is very very protective of his children. He does everything he can to keep them out of the paps way. Imagine if Johnny offered People the exclusive of pictures of his family at home and an interview about his partners pregnancy and their home life. Imagine if Johnny showed up at an awards ceremony with his wife in a flowing gown and they kissed and make out at the table. Think that the tabs wouldn’t take note? You bet they would. The magazines would be in heaven. But you see Johnny would never do that. He has purposely keep his private life private. Same with Matt. Same goes for Jennifer and Ben. If Brad and Angie had never gone to preimeres together then there would be no talk at all. People don’t do that with Johnny because they never expect her to be there. Brad and Angie could have done the same thing with their lives and no one would have said a thing if this was there norm. In fact they would have concentrated on their movies instead of their private life. Brad and Angie have not had control over this pregnancy story the story has been leaked already and twisted. Actually if she would have announced a few weeks ago with some short information i.e. twins or not, when she was due etc. none of these twisted stories would have occured. Everyone knows she is pregnant. If they do “sell” their story it is kind of anti climatic and looks like a money and attention getting grab. Really Halle was a class act. No drama, just a short statement and then people picked it up. I am sure that Halle gives to charity she just doesn’t use her baby to do it. How classy is that compared to the big dress and the selling the story? Not a hater but just wish that they would live a bit quieter life like Johnny and Matt. I think that people would respect them more this way.
If a magazine is stupid enough to pay for something that will be obvious in a few weeks then that’s their prerogative. And that being said, I couldn’t care less what they do with the money. I agree people should live their lives. But in this case it is the children who are being used. I honestly believe that children should have their faces blocked out in magazines and parents should not be allowed to sell photos regardless what is done with the money. Just my thoughts. I believe that as a scoiety we should protect these little ones. I am always so greatful to Johnny for protecting his children all the time. I really believe that they are living normal lives with no paps around. I really believe that he should be used as an example for other hollywood parents. No wonder these kids get into drugs and alcohol becuase they live in such a weird world where they are sold out. Do you think for example that when the kids are like 12 or 13 that parents should sell their pictures for charity? Or is it just whne they are babies. Really the whole thing is very weird.

The upside to selling pictures/info is that a charity will get money, but there is a downside too. No matter how noble their intentions were when they auctioned Shiloh’s first photo off, all the paparazzi saw was that magazines were willing to pay huge amounts for pictures of her and her siblings. It proved there was a bigger market for celebrity children than there had been before. Question: what charities benefited from the sale of Shiloh’s first photo? Does anyone know? I’m not doubting that money was given, I am pointing out that all the press focused on the sale not the charities which benefited. As far as, I know the Jolie-Pitts never even released the information naming the charities. Not a very effective way to give money. Most people who publicly give money do so to draw attention to the charities so others will give too.

I have heard that too, but as far as I can tell going by non-tab press and organizations, she doesn’t - unless she takes far less than is generally assumed. They are 11th on the Giving Back Organization list of the top 30 celebrity donors. Giving Back was only able to confirm a 2.25 million combined total in *public* donations for the couple in 2006 - (to soon for 2007 figures). The organized looked not only a press reports but contacted the charities to confirm the amounts given. The total would not reflect donations that were made anonymously or to organizations without tax exempt status. I’m not saying that 2.25 million isn’t a lot of money — it is a huge amount of money but it is far less than many people credit them with giving.

First photos, interviews, news all earns money for the celebrity so Angelina is no different. The only thing she is doing differently is giving the money to charity rather than keeping it for herself. She knows that people will find out eventually so why not let somebody else benefit from the stupid amounts of money that media outlets are willing to pay?
