Hayden Panettiere continues to have a whale of a good time in Washington!!
The Heroes star attended a Save the Whales Again! rally over the weekend and today she’s on Capitol Hill trying to get Congress to make policies to protect whales against commercial fishing.
Here Hayden is with House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va. following their news conference today.
We don’t know much about whale activism, but we do know fashion and that, girlfriend, is one cute little outfit!

There are WAY bigger issues going on in the world right now. Whales are at the bottom of the list.

Well I know a lot about whale activism and I know that what she is doing is making a difference. I’m really proud of her for sticking with her cause even though there was talk about her arrest in Asia. That shows that she is genuinely concerned about this cause and not just doing it for publicity. And Chicken Little….what are you doing to help any of the problems in the world right now? Seriously whatever anybody can do to help makes a difference!
Whales are as important to our world as anything… they help keep the natural order of things, just like bee’s and butterflies……. Kudo’s to her for keeping this on the forefront to raise awareness.
Ditto to Stephi and Shell’s comments. People will always say there are more important things than whatever cause anyone is acting upon– hello, armchair philanthropists. Worry about what you do with your own time, rather than trying to dictate what should or should not get awareness. The idea of “priority” is subjective anyway, I think it’s great that she’s passionate about this cause. Humans are not the beginning and end-all of everything, we– along with all the other organisms on this planet– are a part of this world.

And if I seem too tree-hugger today, it’s partly due to having just watched this amazing clip on youtube (type in “battle at kruger” in the search engine– but mute it, the tourist’s voices are annoying).
Aysla - that clip was CRAZY!!! And the tourists voices cracked me up- I thought they were actually kind of calm– I would have been much more annoying! LOL!
