Not only is he a renowned drug user but now Pete Doherty plans to show the world his artistic aspirations.
The Babyshambles rocker has unveiled his first public exhibition of his paintings and prints.
Oh yeah, they were produced in his own blood.
Called ‘Bloodworks‘, the show includes four canvases and 10 other original pieces in blood, pen and pencil, ranging from a self-portrait to landscapes and even a crucifixion.
While prices for the originals are yet to be fixed , limited edition prints signed in pencil go for around $700 or in Pete’s blood for $2500.
A small price to pay for a man’s blood, sweat and tears.

Yeah, pretty disgusting. But I’ve seen art made out of much worse and these drawings aren’t half bad. $2500 though - not likely!
People can do anything in the name of art and someone will think it’s amazing. Drawing in your own blood is not talent, it’s sick.
For $2500 I hope it comes with a month’s worth of penicillin.

those painting are very disturbing, it shows he is troubled and is in a lot of pain- like he wants to die and can’t stand himself. It is like he is screaming for help, but doesn’t want it…

using your own blood as a medium is nothing. music business is rather clean genre of art - even with drugs. i’ve been in exhibitions where the artwork consisted of the artist’s different body fluids, including blood, sperm, excrement, saliva etc. petey is being very conservative here. i’d be surprised if no-one didn’t want to pay thousands for these - though buyers are probably just waiting mr. doherty to die which would increase the value of their investment.
good point peep. we all think he’s disgusting now but he is going to be HUGE when he dies. the tortured artist “such a shame he was so young and talented etc” you know how ppl forget the messiness (for want of a better word- its early!) of addiction after death. mark my words.

I’m sorry but I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near his diseased blood? And I would definately not want the blood of a drug addict hanging on my walls. Sure the picture may be kind of intriguing but the whole blood thing is just gross.
