In the days following the tragic death of his Brokeback Mountain co-star, a stoic Jake Gyllenhaal is spotted in Brentwood, CA on Saturday.
Godfather to the late Heath Ledger’s daughter Matilda, Jyllenhaal had not been seen in public since the passing of his beloved pal.
Keep your head up Jakey!

It’s about time there was a new post! Some people are stuck inside you know……
Poor Jake- he must be devastated, as the rest of Heath’s friends and family are. I’m glad he had a good few days before being spotted anywhere.

yeah losing a good friend is tough…hopefully he can get through this rough time right now. And I hope he’ll be in Matilda’s life and tell her all about her daddy.

I didn’t know he was Matilda’s godfather…I didn’t actually realise he and Heath were such good pals. I guess it only makes sense seeing as Jake, Heath and Michelle were all in Brokeback together and that’s where Matilda was conceived.
I hope that Jake will kind of take over as a bit of a father figure in Matilda’s life and will be able to let her know just how much her daddy adored her.

Why doesn’t the media stop stalking these people and let them grieve in peace?

My only understanding to the reason why the media take pictures is because the public wants to know how celebrities cope with death. They are people, but we perceive them to be different because they are famous and wealthy.

Matilda was born 15 months after the film was made, she wasn’t conceived during it. Which suggests a friendship more than just ‘work mates’
Poor Jake. He looks like he’s shed a few tears in those pictures.
