Michelle Williams arrived back at her apartment in New York tonight with her two-year-old daughter Matilda.
The actress has been filming in Sweden and made the quick dash back to the US on hearing that her former lover and her daughter’s daddy Heath Ledger had been found dead in his New York apartment.
Our thoughts are with the bereaved mother and daughter.

I can’t get over how much Matilda looks like Heath when she smiles…that’ll be a long-time blessing but short-time curse for Michelle. I really don’t like how intrusive the paparazzi are being, but I suppose it’s part of the job.
I’m so bummed right now. Bummed. One of those things where you say if only I had called that night, if only I had said this.
Thank goodness Matilda is only 2…. she won’t feel the full effect of what just happened. She probably won’t even remember him…. it’ll be up to Michelle to make sure his memory goes unscathed in her little one’s eyes until she’s old enough to understand her daddy’s death. Kids are so resiliant… if anything, it’ll be Matilda who will help Michelle get through this.
THat is just too sad- i really feel for heath he must have been missing his little girl like crazy I didn’t realise they were so far away.
This photo should be taken off. It’s one thing for the paparazzi to be taking photos of her, but it’s just as bad for you to be posting it.
Oh Geez, “horrible”…. if you are so easily offended and bothered by the pictures being posted here, unplug your computer, turn off your tv and radio, and go sit in a cave. You can’t come onto someone’s blog like this and demand pictures be taken off because YOU are bothered. Chill.
Going to be a tough time for both Michelle and her daughter for a while–I feel really bad for them. I never did hear why she and Heath broke up; can anyone shed any light as to the reason???

Yeah, they’re bad for taking that pic and we’re all bad for looking. Damn my gossip addiction. I just know some jerk is going to get the morgue pic of Heath Ledger, and when they do they’ll get posted right up and that’s what we get for looking, people!
Poor kid….so sad if she is smiling excitedly thinking that she is back home and is going to see her dad. And in a more spiritual metaphysical way, his soul must be screaming NO! NO! NO! if it was all a stupid meaningless, accidental, unintentional thing…taking too many pills to get some sleep. And the housekeeper…..I wouldn’t want to be in her place, second thinking myself with the “I should have gone in 30…15 minutes earlier”.

this photo breaks my heart—michelle looks absolutley miserable. My heart goes out to that little girl and I hope that family does everything they can do to have Heath’s memory live on forever–for the sake of Matilda.

Leave them the fuck alone. Seriously. The media needs to show a little respect right now for Heath’s family. I cannot even begin to imagine what Michelle is going through and I really think she needs some privacy to greive and sort things out. Matilda is just adorable and she looks so much like her daddy which just breaks my heart. Kidge you said it right ‘it’s a long time blessing but a short time curse’.
