Looks like speculation is turning into gospel.

New reports confirm that the medications found at Heath Ledger’s apartment included the anti-anxiety drugs Xanax and Valium.

What’s more? In addition to serveral other prescribed meds, cops also found the sleeping aid Ambien.

All this, of course, is in addition to reports of a rolled-up $20 bill that reportedly had drug residue all over it and is currently being “looked into” by police.

    First off, Ambien is the devils drug!, I was on it for a short time. I woke up in the grocery store!! Freaked out, let me tell ya.
    To many reports of bad things happening on Ambien.
    Though, I never used a rolled up $20, I use straws. (giggles)
    He must have been seeing MORE than one doctor, because one doctor WOULD NOT give you Xanax and Valium together.
    Oh well, must have sucked to have his life, huh?

    Except that no drug residue was found on the $20…

    The Yahoo/AP news story is quoted above (link set as my homepage), even the USA link provided says no visible drug residue was on the $20.

    They kept showing an interview with Heath from last month on TV last night, and he was obviously coked up during it. Sad though that he died.

    ^^Yep.. said the same thing to a co-worker.. no way you would get valium and xanax from the same doc. Ambien is only used by coke-heads I knew.. nver known anyone to actually NEED ambien (not saying anything to you Harley.. just personal experience. And most $20 bills have residue on them.. 20/20 did a special on that like 10 years ago or more… now if it’s chunks, then yea, I can see an investigation.

    ^^Didn’t River Phoenix die from a heroin overdose? And who said Heath was having a party? Maybe he’s just dealing with the breakup? God forbid the cops look at my nightstand: Ambien, Rozerem, Xanax…tums..OHG I’m a walking pharmacy!! Send out the troops! p.s. I am not a coke-head either.

    When I went through my divorce, I was very depressed, they gave me valium, to help me sleep and they gave me an anti depressent, they said he had anxiety, when you have anxiety, it keeps you from sleeping, (he said in an interview, his body was tired, but his mind was still going, that is a form of anxiety) that may be why he had so many, in combination with the jet lag from being in Aussi on Tuesday, London the end of the week and New York on the weekend, my gosh, that is a lot. I just wish people would give him the benifit of the doubt until it is proven other wise. I mean he has 3 sisters a mom, an ex fiance whom he is really close with and a 2 year old daughter, who all love him. I couldn’t imagine this happening to my family. Please just let it rest until they tell us the cause of death. Let is family and friends morn in peace.

    ^^^^ typical addict in denial.xanax is fucking horrible i did that shit a couple of times and every single fucking time i wake up the next day and hardly remember anything from the night before and i always just remember sum really stupid shit like walking home from a friends house (1 hour walk)at 2 a.m.

    xanax is good in the right hands and for the right reasons. COCAINE PRODUCES HIGH ANXIETY DURING AND AFTER USE… ok, that’s all I’m saying anymore… no one knows him or was there or, if they did know him or were there, still wouldn’t know what was going through his mind… soooo.. I’m over it. Prayers for the fam..

    I just wish people would stop the fucking insta-speculation based on every bit of news that is linked, especially since so many corrections have already been issued pertaining to previous leaks. Christ, let the fucking investigations continue and conclude before claiming to know the man’s drug habits, emotional & mental states, and so on. It’s just ridiculous. The entertainment media machine just needs a way to justify its lame, parasitic existence. And yes, I am aware that I am typing this on a gossip site.

    Many people I know who don’t dabble in ANY recreational drugs take Ambien to sleep.
    I took TWO on a plane, and it didn’t do SHIT for me. I stared at the seat in front on me in a dze, but no sleep.

    MSNBC just posted that the NYC police said they found a rolled up twenty dollar bill. So that pretty much proves he was doing cocaine, heroin or meth. And why in all the press on TV last night did they say nothing about why he and Michelle broke up? Probably because of his drug abuse.

    ^^You can crush up basically any pill and snort it through a dollar bill. It makes it take effect stronger and faster, although the effect isn’t as long. Although it was unlikely he was snorting pills when he could very well afford to snort coke or the other things you mentioned.

    I hate this speculation about Heath being a drug user. If he wanted to kill himself I doubt he would have taken the chance that Ambien and sleeping meds would do it to him. I think he’d take something a little harder. I personally don’t beleive he was a user or killed himself, but was purely someone who needed to get some sleep and just took too many or a bad combination. Until there is more factual evidence and not just speculation and things like ‘he had a rolled up bill so he MUST have been doing drugs’ being said, I will beleive it was an accidental overdose.

    it’s possible one drug interacted the wrong way with another (i.e. ambien and xanax). that’s considered an overdose as well.

    WTF am I not getting???? Drugs are NOT cool. It’s killing me how many people are talking about popping pills like they’re fucking Skittles. When will people get a clue and realize that you can’t abuse meds, prescription or otherwise???? I can’t speak for everyone else but I have never had a restless night that a little Simply Sleep couldn’t cure. I understand that some people require prescription sleep meds but if that shit isn’t working then you have to have the common sense to go back to your doctor. Self-medicating can be the death of you. Anyway, all you have to do is watch some of Heath’s videos and he acts like he’s doped the hell up and not just ‘anxious’. He simply could not stop moving around.

    And for the folks saying you that one doctor wouldn’t prescribe both Xanax and Valium….bullshit. Then explain Anna Nicole’s prescriptions. Money can buy you anything.

    Well, just playing with the money when I have been sitting in the car! Nothing weird. I guess I never even thought about it. But, the money had no traces of drugs, so clearly he just rolled it up too!
