If George W. Bush is to blame for the oncoming recession, then you better thank Britney Spears for doing her best to inject some life into the economy.
The folks over at Portfolio have calculated just how many people make a pretty penny off the troubled popwreck.
Here are just some:
Jive Records (her music)
Elizabeth Arden (her perfume)
Pure Nightclub (her appearances)
X17 paparazzi photo agency (sold $2.5 million in Britney photos alone in 2007)
Splash News (10%-15% of its business)
Celebrity magazines with her cover (newsstand sales reached $360 million in a 78-week period in 2006 and 2007)
Yahoo (She’s so searched the company worries that Web traffic would drop if no one looked for her)
Kevin Federline (gets $35,000 a month from her)
Estimated annual value of Britney to the economy? $110 million or so.

Arasto, you didn’t mention your own site traffic when you run nasty bits about our dear Brit Brit. Shit, Perez Fuckface has even acknowledged that during the police standoff and he was ALL BRIT, ALL THE TIME, his hits reached 10 million (he’s probably lying but not by that much) that day.

yeah, but think about how much productivity has plummeted in offices with internet access. that has to hurt the economy on a deeper level!

that’s really bizarre. But none of it is really necessary. The world will go one fine even if X17, celebrity blogs and tabloids all shut down forever.
