The White House has postponed an event slated for today with President Bush promoting an ad preventing prescription drug abuse fearing charges of being seen as “opportunistic” following the death of Heath Ledger.

As you may recall, there were sleeping pills near the actor, but the cause of his death remains under investigation.

Harley…while I think I understand where you are coming from… it’s terrible the things that drive people to that feeling of hopelessness… being that depressed is an unexplainable feeling. If you’ve never felt it, it’s extremely difficult, if not impossible, to put yourself in that person’s shoes and judge how they react to that feeling…. that said I feel bad for his family… especially his daughter.. girls NEED their fathers.. many of us don’t have one or don’t have a very good one anyway.

    HAH!
Since when was the Bush adminstration ’sensitive’? There must be something else behind it….
    Hmm.
Also why are we all so certain it was suicide again? Since when were any of you coroners?

^^i didn’t say it was… just saying IF it was, it is difficult if not impossible to know how it feels to get that depressed… I will wait for the coroners report which will give me probably as much closure as Anna Nicole, JFK or Marilyn Monroe.. GOOSE EGG!

    ONLY 1,
Though having a father that is doped up or drunk is better then not having one? - -I would have to disagree.
I grew up with out a father, and I thank God. He was a drunk and died a drunk.
Maybe some are better off with that kind of “parent” in their life, drunkards are great fathers.
I would rather not, thank you.

GMAFB. The government, especially including this administration, has always had the pharm companies in their back pockets. THey are such a bunch of hypocrites. There is but one safe “drug” to treat insomnia, depression, nausea, lack of appetite and a host of other ailments that I won’t list and it is–yes you guessed it!—marijuana, They can save their bullshit propaganda and just continue to promote the over medication of the American public from kids to senior citizens.

Harley…Let me re-phrase… Girls need a GOOD father… trust me.. my father was all of the above and my mom tried to keep us away from him and I resented her and now I know why she did it (though she wasn’t much better)… anywho.. I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say, that’s all.
