Usher and Kerry Washington showed their support for Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama at a rally yesterday on the campus of South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, S.C. Funnyman Chris Tucker was also at the rally.

The all-star cast was on hand to reminded the mostly black audience that civil-rights pioneers fought for their right to vote.

Said Usher: “If you don’t use your voice, you didn’t make a difference!”

Rock the vote, y’all!

When Celeb’s “support” any kind of Politcal person, it makes me NOT like them anymore.
I mean there are people out there that are that weak minded to follow the hollyweird people.
    Glad Im not one.

    ^grow up.

  3. daisy mae Says:

who cares vote and support who the hell you want to ..

  4. She Rides A Harley Says:

Um, I am…………..Thats why I dont like celebs that support politacal people.
It sways TO many weak minded people into the lessor of the evils.
    :)

I agree with you, Harley…but you also have to realize that the majority of the public is now weak-minded…not just the ones you mentioned.

true #1 celebs hurt more than they help politicians proof Oprah hurt obama and herself in the process, she lost all credibility.

  7. Anonymous Says:

just like barbara walters on her “liberal view”.

  8. saywhut Says:

No, they’ve done studies and celebrity endorsements don’t have that much of an effect on how people vote. Unless it’s someone like Oprah, but how many Oprahs are there, really?
Remember when Puff Daddy P. Diddy whoever did that vote or die thing then come election day whoops, he was too busy to vote himself? Also Paris Hilton, but that was probably a good thing.

  9. Supersonic Says:

I don’t think celeb endorsements really help much. I think it makes people take you less seriously actually. ‘Star power’ is usually a bunch of crap if they only ’show support’ to these type of things every so often. Continued and consistent interest in matters other than themselves might make people listen to celebrities at times like this. I like Barrack though. He’s hawt.

‘SheRides’, would it be better for people to choose a president based on their looks? Or to vote a straight party ticket because that’s the party their spouse votes? Because there are still people out there who choose their representatives like that…I think that those people should reconsider their methods of choosing a candidate. On another, unrelated note, THANK GOD that Fred Thompson is now outta the race. It would be really too much if the voters chose a president based on the fact that HE PLAYED ONE ON TV. Is it enough that someone was a good-enough actor that his PERFORMANCE on a tv show reading LINES would convince people that he’s capable of determining public domestic and foreign policy??
!!?? For God’s sake…no wonder I’m depressed enough right now to find a cliff and throw myself off.

The people that run today, is sickening to say the least.
The Governement people havent cared about YOU or I in years.
Today, it is the lessor of two evils to say the truth.
If people go vote, then they have a good reason to complain, I vote, and I complain. Its the American way.
If “politics” could turn back just 50 years….We the American people would be so much better off.
Dems & Reps, were more in tune with the American people, period.
It wasnt a mud sligging contest as it has warped into.
Im just sickened by BOTH parties that are running. Though if that is my choice, then I will pick in my heart, the less of two evils. :)

  12. daisy mae Says:

im not going back and forth with debates , like i said who cares vote for who you want, everyone wont please everyone so please yourself.!

  13. supernova Says:

Heated debate. I can’t stand when celebs open their fat mouths for candidates but that’s as old as democracy itself. I just ignore the them. Harley, if you’re sick of both parties (and that IS a legitimate complaint) then maybe you’ll vote for Bloomberg if he throws his hat into the ring. He did an INCREDIBLE job of cleaning up the shit Rudy Guilliani made of New York (and I’m talking about a fucked up budget and a VERY disunited, divided population).

  14. daisy mae Says:

so good for you everyone has their own opinions not just one…. no heated debate just a debate.

  15. hotbitch Says:

Celebrity endorsements are so stupid. And not for nothing but Kerry Washington isn’t even famous enough for all of this.
