PETE GETS IN THE POLITICAL MIX

Celeb sweetheart couple Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz make a fashionable departure after lunching at Chin Chin on Sunset Blvd in L.A. on Wednesday.

The newly redheaded lipsyncing diva will soon join her Fall Out Boy bassist beau as he co-hosts a low-cost fundraiser in Chicago next week for the presidential canadate Barack Obama.

The announcement came in the form a press release today wherein Pete added:

“I have been an Obama supporter from day one. After watching the new hampshire primary, I couldn’t just be an observer anymore. I had to act. We’ll pass on the string quartet, DJ Whiteshadow will put a new spin on politics as usual. Forget the wine and champagne. I will be pouring the night’s specialty shot, the O-bomb(a).

This isn’t your parents’ fundraiser, while these changes to the traditional fundraiser are unconventional, they represent the kind of shake up that I believe Barack Obama can bring to Washington. Change we can believe in.”

Will Pete’s support help or hurt Barack’s campaign?

I really don’t like her hair this color. Too red and unnatural looking. She’s lucky that she’s able to pull off both dark and blonde hair…but this is pushing it. I think these two make a really good couple actually, they seem very comfortable with each other.

I don’t think his support will make a substantial difference one way or another. Neither he nor his band are quite as big as internet gossip columns make them out to be. But it is good to see someone from his demographic actively involved in politics.

I don’t like the red on Ashlee.
Pete, I guessed you were “for” Obama before I opened the post. Transparent.

Most celebrities (unless you’re Oprah) don’t matter enough to sway a political election, best thing they can do is throw money at the campaign and shut the hell up.

Ashlee is actually pretty now that she’s had that hawk-nose fixed. It’s unfortunate though she wrecks it as soon as she opens her mouth and out comes Barbie.

I don’t think Pete’s support will make any difference one way or another simply because folks in his age demographic traditionally don’t actually vote on election day. That’s a shame but true.

I hate that smirky smile on her face. Its always there–almost like she can’t make any other expressions because they pulled the skin too tight on her face.
