CLAY AIKEN IN SPAMALOT

clayaiken-spamalot.jpg

Check out a sneak peek at Clay Aiken as he takes on Broadway playing Sir Robin in Monty Python’s Spamalot.

In a recent interview with Newsweek, the American Idol diva called the production “the stupidest thing I’d ever seen in my entire life.”

Now we sorta understand what he means.

He’s such an asshole. I’m pretty sure he’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen, he’s not worthy of Spamalot in my opinion. The show is way too classically funny for the likes of a one hit wonder TV show winner.
It’s not his music, or his sexuality that makes me not like him at all though…its purely based on his personality. Which really really sucks.

He’s an all round great entertainer and very irreverant and witty - he uses Monty Python humour in his concerts and has people on the floor laughing. He’s perfect for the part of Sir Robin.

It’s unfortunate that some people post out of hate and prejudice.

Spamalot being called ’stupid’ is a GOOD THING. It IS the stupiest thing on Broadway. I saw it 1 1/2 years ago with most of the original cast and just saw it last night with Clay and Chris Seiber (came back from the original cast). And I must say-CLAY WAS PHENOMENAL.. Just as good, if not greater, than a lot of ’seasoned’ Broadway performers. Clay played two other parts besides Sir Robin. He used 3 different British accents. His acting was perfection and his singing wasn’t too bad, either (LOL). Mike Nichols is a genius; he KNEW Clay was great for this role and he is. So…if any of you haven’t seen it- SHUT UP!! I can’t believe such ignorance can be found in some people!! Seems to me- that most of the IDIOTS who ‘diss’ Clay are the ones who have never seen him in concert or on tv.(youtube.com has a treasure trove of Clay performances) Clay is a singer, actor, comedian, humanitarian and just an all-around fantastic person. One of the best commodities in show business.

fatima- you are sooooooo wrong about Clay being the ‘loser’- Besides- what has Ruben done to prove HE was the ‘winner’???? Two producers admitted Clay received 80 percent of the vote every week he was on- and I am sure- even the finale. How come the very next year the finalists each had 3 phone lines and 4 hours of voting time -when Clay and Ruben only had one line and 2 hours? The producers didn’t want that horrible experiemce to happen again. They knew Clay beat the living daylights out of Ruben- Clay knows, the judges know and most ‘intelligent’ people know too what happened that night.
Ruben’s mother got in 200 votes; Clay’s only 2- …………whose line was the busy (and jammed) one??? One guess; and the name does NOT begin with ‘R’!!! Cllay has proven a thousand times over that he was the true winner. IDOL FOUND, GAME OVER!!!

Clay was phenomonal in this role. Wish I could see it more than the two times I went.
He just simply blew me away…

Clay was spot on in all his roles. I expected no less. We saw him in concert twice, and he owns the stage with his engaging personality, and stupendous voice. I would love to see Spamalot again before his stint ends.

I cannot imagine why there is such hate for this really wonderful guy. He’s intelligent, witty, good hearted, and has brought in tons of people to this show. All the critics have given fantastic reviews of his performance, so I think all of you who are doubting his abilities, had better get yourselves there with an open mind, and forget the untrue, nasty rumors.

Clay Aiken gives a remarkably accomplished performance (i.e., authentic cockney accent) in “Spamalot,”
a genuinely entertaining and beguiling show that has had a deserved long run on Broadway. Now, with
Aiken starring, it will have capacity houses throughout his 4 months long tenure. Despite the unutterably
vicious and pathological comments directed at him in this venue, Aiken has legions of adoring fans who
appreciate and cherish his unique and unorthodox personality and his brilliant and versatile singing talents.
Why are you pathological types who are showing so much venom toward him so worked up?

    Hail Clay Aiken !

I dont want to hear from anyone who hasnt seen the production.
Clay did a FANTASTIC job last night as I saw it.

Hes witty and has a sence of humor that transends
he reaches all age groups from little girls to older men who enjoy a good laugh.

This role was made for him. from the songs to the dance to even his speech

    Loved it.

I agree that this photo is not very flattering of Clay, it doesn’t do him justice. His new CD is now available on Amazon & Bestbuy, and that cover photo is gorgeous. Please stop trashing Clay and his personality without actually having followed his career or humanitarian efforts or even just having listened to him speak. Clay is so genuine, humble, witty, talented and kindhearted. He jokes around a lot, but in the end, he always praises and gives credit to others and takes attention away from himself way more than he should.

If you want to see his personality, just watch any or all of his hundreds of interviews or interaction with the audience from any of his concerts, you won’t honestly be able to make any more negative comments about this sweet man with the big heart and great sense of humor.

Check out his interview about his latest CD, as just one of many examples:

Wow, so much hatred for a person you don’t even know! Being anonymous allows some people to let loose with the rude and nasty remarks, but how about having some respect for yourselves and what you write? A little jealousy, perhaps? Or maybe you are bitter that the kid who got picked on is now famous, rich and successful. I’ve seen Clay several times in concert and twice in Spamalot. He has a wonderful personality besides being so talented musically, and quite a sense of humor!
