An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow to determine what caused Brad Renfro’s death.
According to roommates, the 25-year-old actor was drinking Monday night. They discovered his dead body the next morning and made the 911 call.
Meanwhile, his former defense attorney Blair Berk tells People she was particularly moved to hear of the death: “As critical and prescient as you become in this town, all I did was cry when I heard the news. I feel in some respects like we all failed.”

So Sad!!! RIP
Huh?
How can anyone feel that they failed when someone else makes a decisiont o die of drug or booze OD?
Not me fault, so why should I feel bad? - - -I dont
As a mother of a 25 year old son who died on November 29, 2007 (epilectic seizure), I understand the pain of the loss of a young man with such promise. But just the opposite of drug use, my son did not take his seizure medication because it made him feel depressed. I too feel in some respects that I failed, because I didn’t stay on him to take his medicine; just as she (the lawyer) may feel that she didn’t do enough to make sure that her client/friend didn’t stay away from illegal substances. (Although this may turn out to be alcohol poisoning - and alcohol is legal.)
Failed?! He was a failure as a human being!
CaliGirlinGA, your case is totally different and I’m sorry about your son…
This Brad guy was just scum.
CaliGirlinGa, that is so sad. I am very sorry to hear about your son, I can’t even begin to imagine what that would feel like.
I feel really sorry for this kid just because he is so very young. When anyone dies in their 20’s it feels almost unreal. It does seem like he has had a lot of trouble with not only drugs but also with the law in general. I swear after watching all these teen stars self destruct I would never let either of my children work in show business.
I understand that it’s a conscious choice for people to get involved in the drug scene. But I just don’t feel that these people are “scum” because of their illness. because that’s what addiction is, an illness. After watching Jeff Connaway on that celebrity rehab show, i just think the whole thing is sad. Yeah, they should make different choices, but I think that when you’re in the midst of it, that’s nearly impossible to do. Also, I would be saddened if ANYONE I knew died. Drug overdose or not. because the loss of life is just a sad thing
Anyone who doesn’t feel at least a brief sorrow when someone dies (especially at their own hand) is an absolute piece
of shit that deserves nothing that mades and/or makes them human. Nothing.
I agree with anon - no one deserves to die. He was a human being. This is horribly sad.
