Pregnant Jessica Alba called in the clowns (a.k.a. West Hollywood Sheriff’s Dept.) to…ahem…protect her from the pesky photographers who take the pictures that keep her famous, as she left a gym today.
You’d think the star-struck boys in khaki — loaded .45s at the ready — would focus on more productive things to do in a city of 50 000 souls, like thwart a bank robbery or bust a few drug dealers. Yet somehow two deputies and a vertically challenged detective were able to drop their donuts and rush to her aid. Their motto is, after all, ‘To protect and serve… celebrities…’
Tax dollars at work, folks. Jessica’s personal wishes and desires should be at the top of everyone’s list!!

You people are crazy, there are a bunch of grown ass man who would do anything for an exclusive shot and you are calling her out on it, tell them sons of bitches to get a real job.
I commend her, take care of yourself first, and last time I checked, homegirl pays taxes so if she needs some assitance, that is what police are there for.

Anyhow, I get your point, jade, but most of the other people that live in the city pay taxes too and have a hell of a time getting the cops out for a “non-emergency.” I live in the LA area and once I called the cops at 6 in the morning cause it sounded like my neighbor was trying to kill his wife. It took them over an hour to send anyone out and by that time the guy had left and the lady was too scared to open the door. It wasn’t a bad neighborhood either.
You’ve seen the swarms of paps that hang around and crowd in so that they are just inches away from their target. They don’t know the meaning of the term personal space, and sadly it will take something like a death before anything is done to keep them at bay.
It’s not like she calls on them everyday. She must have had a reason. It’s also not her fault that so many cops showed up just so they could meet her and be on camera.
And she may be reacting this way because she’s pregnant. If she tries to get away from them she could endanger her child. The paps should go bother the people who want to be bothered or just take the damn picture and leave. Maybe the city of Los Angeles needs to do something about these people before someone gets hurt.

I agree that she has the right to protect herself and her baby. If I was pregnant and felt unsafe I wouldn’t hesitate to get help. I also agree though that she needs to quit relying on the police for this sort of thing and hire herself a bodyguard, at least for the rest of her pregnancy. The fact is she is a celebrity and for some reason people are interested in her boring ass and her baby. It’s not like she’s getting nearly as much attention as Britney does when she goes to Rite Aid so I think she needs to settle down a little and realise that it comes with the job that she chose.

West Hollywood is a very small area. It has a huge amount of cops. All the Paparazzi hang about West Hollywood. If she’s not comfortable then she has every right to call them just like every other celeb. She pays more tax dollars than probably 80% of the population so shut up Arasto. Seriously, stop trying to be like Perez - u just sound unoriginal.
I agree with “Jade” and “me”. She has a right to protect herself. On a movie set or the red carpet she’s a celebrity. But when she is home or coming out of the gym or buying groceries she is entitled to safety like every other pregnant woman. Hounding surrounding and following a pregnant woman is not safe period. A pregnant woman can miscarry from stress. She was 100% right to call the police and protect herself.
She should call for protection. I would. She needs it. The papparazzi don’t respect her space so she has too. unfortunately I think this falls into the responsibility of out government/legislature. There needs to be laws made to protect theses people privacy. Like at least a 20-30ft rule or if they are in a car leave them alone.
