Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are the parents of a brand spankin’ new daughter!!!
Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz.
“The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents,” says the rep, who confirmed the birth to PEOPLE exclusively.
Congratulations!! We’re absolutely loving the name!!

Hmmm. Not liking “Harlow” (makes me think of Gene Harlow). But the rest of the name is cool. Congrats you two crazy kids!!
Why would they leave right after Nicole gave birth??? Shouldn’t they be staying for at least 24 hours? I’m guessing she has a baby nurse but I personally wanted my babies monitored in the hospital for the first 24 hours.
i reckon they are saying the family is at home to avoid the paps later.
they should at least stay overnight!

Oh please winter is so effing stupid, and predictable. I hate when people do that to their kids, name them autumn, winter, summer, etc… at least it isn’t her first name.
That was MY babies name. well, would be when I have it! Harlow I just liked and Winter is my mom in laws middle name. What a skank.
I like the name…. it’s a hell of a lot better than Coco or *puke* Apple or *hurl* Moses….. In Canada, it’s not unusual to go home 18 hours after having a normal event-free delivery. C-sections are different - 3 days in the hospital. I went home after 2.

oh ya - I’m in Canada and I stayed 2 days (my choice) with all 3 babies after having terrific, uncomplicated (vaginal) deliveries
harlow(e) is patricia arquette’s daughter’s name. not very original if you ask me.
Krissa - you are very lucky! I’m in Western Canada…. a friend of mine, about 5 years ago had her baby and they kicked her out the very next morning because they short on beds. That’s waaaay too soon ifyou ask me. My grandma said back in her day they stayed a week!
I really love the name actually! I think Harlow is beautiful and yeah I’m not too fussed on Winter but its ok. I knew that Nicole wouldn’t name her baby something common. She will be great with a little girl I think. I can’t wait to see how she dresses the baby and whether it looks more like her or more like Joel. I’m sure OK will have it covered soon enough.

Its a cool name…..Im suprised! Though it could be worse as we all know.

Well, I think the name Harlow Madden is cool. And I hope Nicole has changed during her pregnancy and will be a responsible loving and sober mom to her daughter. The same for Joel Madden though I dunno anything about him.
