DR. PHIL “BETRAYED” THE SPEARS FAM

dr-phil-betrayal.jpg

Dr. Phil is being accused of violating the Spears family’s trust after making public statements about his hospital visit with Britney and his call for her to receive therapy.

Family spokesman Lou Taylor, a business manager for mother Lynne and daughter Jamie Lynn Spears, appeared on Wednesday’s Today show and also said that at no time had the family planned to do a show with McGraw, despite his statements about such a program. (McGraw later said the scheduled episode would not go on as originally planned.)

“It was decided it would be detrimental to ever do that,” said Taylor, who described McGraw’s request for such a show in the first place to be “self-serving.” She also said that McGraw has now “compromised” Lynne and Jamie Lynn’s relationship with Britney.

“What’s wrong with Dr. Phil’s statement,” said Taylor, “is that he made a statement. The family, basically, extended an invitation of trust for him to come in as a resource to support them, not to go out and make public statements.”

She added, “He was not invited to make this part of a public display or part of the media.”

If you ask us, Dr. Phil needs to have his whizbang lawyer son explain HIPAA law to father, Cedars-Sinai, and the Spears family, especially regarding Britney’s medical privacy rights!!!!!!!

Revoke that licence now!!

You would think they would all wise up & not put themselves in a position to be betrayed after all that’s happened.

He isnt a real doctor anyway, he just plays one on TV as far as I am concerned, though he had no right under the law, to say crap about Brit.Even though I cant stand the washed up Anna Nicole #2, he wasnt correct in what he did.
(though I will not lie, I enjoed it!!) :P

He should not have said anything in a public statement but maybe if these people stopped tip toeing around Britney and treating her like she is broken glass she could have a reality check for the 1st time in her life. This girl has had her ass kissed since she was a kid and that is why she acts like a fool now.

To quote the good doc “What were you thinking?”

I actually like Mc Graw but feel he was very predatory towards Spears and inappropriate in making statements to the press, and going so far as to sit down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight/Insider

He didn’t say anything about her medical information, she hasn’t been diagnosted with anything he just said she needs help. Hello, we are all saying that and the family is probably lying as they are trying to make themselves look good. Dr. Phil’s problem is that he tried to help this white trash family and now they are turning the tables on him to make themselves look better. Just my opionon though, which doesn’t really amount to much.

I work as a paralegal in healthcare law and what “Dr.” Phil did was commit a major HIPAA violation. It’s one thing for Cedars to allow him access to Brit’s room (though he was apparently granted access by Brit’s dad; not 100% sure how true that is) but it’s ILLEGAL for him to come back and disclose anything about her medical condition to anyone. What a moron!!!

im going to bet that the said interview would have involved lynne and lots of tears and a big dose of the poor me’s and the its not my fault one daughters crazy and the others knocked up.
And then i guess they caught wind of the fact that the public thought it was in bad taste and decided to blame it all on dr phil instead making out it was all his idea.I mean you wouldnt go so far as to advertise it one your website if things were not at least half way green lighted would you????!!!!

JaneSays….If he was treating her, yes, that would be a violation. He is not her doctor. He was giving his professional opinion.I am a huge fan of his,and I say that he never should have got involved with that nutty family. It is their way of blaming someone for something and taking the heat of the real issue her.e……..BRIT IS FUCKED UP!

WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU ASK DOCTOR PHIL TO HELP IF YOU ARE TRYING TO KEEP IT PRIVATE. GET A PRIVATE PROFESSIONAL.. NOT A GOD DAMN TV PERSONALITY!! THAT’S WHERE THEY MESSED UP AND IT’S THEIR OWN STUPID ASS FAULTS.

HE DOES NOT HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO PRACTICE PSYCHOTHERAPY.

dr.phil is not licensed at all in any state to act as a therapist to ANYONE.

    Ethical violation
The Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists imposed disciplinary sanctions on McGraw on January 27, 1989 for an inappropriate “dual relationship” reported in 1988 by a therapy client/employee from 1984. McGraw was ordered by the Board to take an ethics class, pass a jurisprudence exam, complete a physical evaluation, undergo a psychological evaluation and have his practice supervised for one year in order to continue his private practice in Texas. McGraw admits to giving the client a “job” at his office (which is not allowed), but denied carrying on a sexual relationship with the 19 year old, who says their relationship was “sexually inappropriate.”[10][2][11] As of 2008, McGraw is still not licensed to practice psychology.

I don’t think his patients privacy has ever been a problem for Dr Phil. I mean he makes a living out of airing people’s personal problems on TV. I know that the patients put themselves in that position, but any self repsecting doctor wouldn’t want to treat his patients in full view of everyone else. I don’t know what his qualifications are or anything but he’s out for a quick buck in my opinion. He should have shut his mouth about Britney’s condition, whether he knew about it or not.
