As part of her East Meets East global tour, Madonna visited a crowded slum in Mumbai today where impoverished residents showered her with rose and marigold petals.
Rocking a black jacket, T-shirt and jeans, the singer/humanitarian spent nearly 45 minutes with residents of the downtown shanty township.
Joining Madge were her hubby Guy Ritchie and their Australian author pal Gregory David Roberts, who made the Mumbai slum his home in the early 80s.
Next up for the soon-to-be 50-year-old singer? Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March followed by the release of her 11th studio album.

^My2cents…I think it’s because she has absolutely no fat on her body. She needs some fluff to fill out her face.

I agree with OMG, why is Arasto picking the worst pictures of her? Seems all of the media is. I have seen better pictures of her recently than the media has been showing.
And I agree with spinner, women who are really skinny after like 30 years old get premature wrinkles (Teri Hatcher especially!), so I think Madonna would look great if she put on a few pounds. She wasn’t this skinny, well remember during Take A Bow or videos like that, she was at a great weight, not too skinny.
God there are worse people she could follow the lead of than Angelina Jolie! If only more people followed her lead!
It’s good to see Madonna doing this sort of stuff, and its a great example for her children as well.
Sorry, I can’t congratulate Madge on her 45 minutes of visiting a slum. She’s following no one’s lead except that fame-and photo-op sniffing nose of hers. She was probably just out shopping for another orphan. Since adopting David, she’s realized she made a huge mistake in not getting a matching set in the first place…
Good for Madonna. She seems to be taking this very seriously.

Hell even Clay Aiken spent almost two weeks in Afghanistan’s Rural areas on his UNICEF field visit, UMM, I can see why Angelina does it she’s with the UN, why is Maddona doing it? adopting another child? She looks like she’s sight seeing on vacation.
Do some research people. She was there because she was invited by some charity organisation to see the work they do. She also made sure that the biggest part of her visit was out of sight for the press. There are no pictures of her talking to the residents and visiting a school. The picture above was taken when she was leaving. She didn’t talk to the press once. So before everybody says she is doing it for attention, please check the facts.
