Clad in all black (chipped nail polish and all), Ashlee Simpson makes an appearance on MTV’s Total Request Live in New York City on Thursday.
The blonde lip syncing sensation’s new album is tentatively scheduled to drop in March, and when fans finally get a listen, Ashlee said they’ll be hearing something that’s equal parts “cheeky, quirky and sweet.”
“It’s definitely influenced by ’80s music,” she said. “I wanted to do music with beats, I wanted to step outside the box. It’s where I am in my life. There’s parts of the record that are ’80s-influenced, because that’s just kind of where I’m at right now. I’m more laid-back, and I want to dance around, and I kind of laugh at things a lot, so you’ll hear that on the record.”
As for what’s next? “Who knows? My next record, what if I do a metal record? It goes with how you are and where you’re at in a time in your life. And right now, I’m at an easygoing, fun, loving time.”

I tot it was Drew Barrymore at first glance (the first pic). She’s grown so pretty after the surgery…now if only she had some brains to go with the new look.
What’s with the Ashley love fest?
She’s a pretty girl and she bought herself a nice nose, but to me she always looks like she’s trying way too hard. Do you think she just got a cheap black manicure and let it chip? Hells no, she spent an extra half hour and an extra twenty bucks at the salon getting the rock-star special. And what is that green shit around her neck. Is that a fucking cravat? When she says she wants to be 80s she must mean 1880s. And what the hell is up with that abuse of black eyeliner? I love me some black eyeliner but you gotta know when to stop, especially when you’re blonde. See, you guys, spewing venom is fun, let’s have some more of it.
I can rag on her music and personality for hours, but I cannot say anything negative about her looks. I think she looks absolutely beautiful now. She has a better body than Jessica too, IMO.
