PETA has been working on overdrive in recent months. First a new ad featuring a nude Eva Mendes. Then came the Trollsens. Now this?
Rocking little more than some M&M-coloured body paint and holding a banner that reads, M&M’s: Colors of Cruelty, PETA protested outside the M&M’s World store on Broadway Street in New York City today.
Other PETA militants handed out leaflets explaining how candy-giant Mars funds painful and deadly tests on mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits.
The tests, PETA says, are done to determine the effects of chocolate ingredients on blood vessels.
Now tells us: Will you be more or less likely to buy Mars bars this holiday season after PETA’s allegations? (Btw, Hershey’s, Mars’ top competitor, has pledged not to fund or conduct experiments on animals.)

Screw PETA!!! I’d rather have a few less rats & mice and possibily finding a cure to many diseaes that plague us.

I never knew about this. This has definately effected my decision on what chocolate I will buy. Seriously if a company has the option to NOT test on animals…why wouldn’t they do it? It’s just stupid if its not necessary.

so many people complain about the employment of “nude” female volunteers by PETA. i see that some people want to be touchy in the depictions of women in the media, but… these are humans volunteering their time to draw attention to animals needlessly dying (for a chocolate company). i really doubt that media would show up if the pitch PETA sent them were phrased “PETA sits down quietly and writes a strongly worded letter to MARS asking them to stop killing animals.” call me crazy, but I doubt that would bring out the herd of photographers that semi-nude women can draw. PETA is only catering to our sex-crazed attention-deficit population — and doing a good job of it, apparently.

I personally wrote to the media person at Mars to get a response……I got none. That has to tell you something! Besides, there’s always Hershey, who states that they DO NOT do animal testing. Show some compassion. These are proven unnecessary tests being done and inhumanely. Mice and rats have feelings just like any other living thing.
Heather….Ignorance is not knowing you have a choice to do the right thing! Ignorance is not knowing you don’t need fur to keep warm and animal cruelty to keep you fed and healthy. Ignorance is not knowing that the effects of chocolate does not need to be tested on animals or people for that matter, as you have so stated!

The gov. spends about 22,000,000 or more on animal research a year. They are doing the same experiments addicting monkeys to coke, meth, alchohol, til they bite their tongues off, rip their hair out, mutilate theirselves, or die ( thank goodness for death)This isn’t about you and me. This is about animals that breathe, eat, has babies, and feels emotions and pain. How many centuries have we been dying of cancer, aids, hepatitis, no cure yet. Before you condemn, find out what they are doing, how much tax money they are spending. Watch a lab experiment all the way through. And there is other ways to do testing without torture and molesting animals.

this is an outrage… I think that they should test these affects on people who are death row. Or maybe kids that we don’t like this much, but definitely not animals people should die from any possible side affect before a rat. If a cause is worth fighting for you don’t have to sex it up!
i think all animals have the right to live and shouldn’t be killed, so we fat american’s can stuff our selves with more fat chocolate. i think all tests should be run on people who don’t care about these poor animals who have feeling. 1) m&m’s DO animal testing, and though im no judge… i am glad i have the power to decide to be pro or aggainst torture. For what i believe human kind design to be capable for many things but not because we are able it means we should. I am a great believer that we or at least I should not torture for pleasure if i DO have other options… MANY other options.
2) i am SICK OF READING AND LISTENING EVERY SINGLE DAY of people that are sooo selfish about what they WANT no MATTER…WHAT!. For what i know,you, the ones that eat torture and buy it can keep doing it cause it simply doesnt affect me.. but what it concerns to what I try, and do, its all about doing better cause i know i AM CAPPABLE… and simply as live fully without the NEED of killing others in return.
3) ITS NOT ABOUT DOING RIGHT… OR BEING THE BEST! It is about TRYING to evolution people, as simple as to try not to inject fat into an animal just to see if the LIGHT sticker works, or watching how they inject fat in an animal waiting slowly how much can he/she/it handdle …until one day the heart will stop after all that torture…unnecessary, and finnally realizing the product is “right”.
4) As a last comment… i like to think theres people that think like these…. that try.. but most of all that evolution as a human/animal and that DO CARE about others besides themselves. Cause I KNOW many people that just keep eating torture and using animals as objects because they think its cool and rebel… i like to call that bullshit, i…I hope they will just one day realize what they were missing.. and one they they will appreciate.. thats the kind of people that MAKE a difference or at least feel better…i know i do.

that hormones will not interfere with test results.
A simple orichectomy is sufficient in human volunteers.
