The blows just keep coming for the Spears family.
Just one day after the bombshell Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy headliner comes news that the 16-year-old mum-to-be has split from her babydaddy Casey Aldridge.
“Jamie Lynn and Casey are NOT together. They’ve broken up numerous times, but he was her first and she kept taking him back,” says the insider.
“They’re not dating now. He’s really got nothing to offer this baby. He’s a kid himself. They have no plans to get married.”
“At this point, Jamie Lynn has asked her mom — and not Casey — to be in the delivery room with her.â€
A rep for Jamie Lynn was not immediately available for comment.
What’s more? It appears the Zoey 101 star’s “surprise” pregnancy wasn’t a suprise after all! In a new interview with Jamie Lynn’s aunt, Chanda McGovern says, “I do believe Jamie Lynn may be feeling the disruption of the family with everything that’s going on. It may be one of the reaons she went out and did what she did, and whether she got pregnant on purpose or by accident, that’s the reason she went out and rebelled. She wants a little bit of ‘me’ attention, with everything that’s going on with Britney like it is.â€
She adds: “I believe Jamie Lynn is entirely too young to be sexually active. She’s got her whole life ahead of her, she’s just a baby herself and 16 is entirely too young to be sexually active.â€

The poor girl. She must be feeling really scared right now. I don’t think there is anything wrong with being sexually active at 16…sure you are young, but a lot of people underestimate the relationships between teenagers I think. It’s an unfortunate accident but she does seem to be handling it very well and her mom seems to be a good support for her. It’s a shame that they aren’t together and that he won’t be able to witness the birth of his first child. They are way too young to be going through something like this and it will change that young girls life in a BIG way. My thoughts are with her.
This isn’t a global tragedy or anything, but my god is this family trash. Nothing wrong with being sexually active at 16, but hello?! Birth control!! Can’t say much about mom since I don’t know anything about her. Sure, it’s good that she’s not disowning her daughter, but really, was there much chance of that? She knows what side her bread’s buttered on.

Wow. I think 16 is ok but I lost my virginity at 17 and I was able to obtain birth control pills and condoms from a local PP clinic for free…it is hard to believe that at her level of income she could not find adequate birth control…

as a sidenote, do these young teen girls realize it’s unfair to expect your parents to help out? grandparents shouldn’t have to become babysitters. they already raised you.
In most european countries legal age for sex is 15-16. And personally I think it’s fine to have sex at that age, but if you do, you need to do it responsibly, there are numerous ways to protect yourself nowadays. Do it!
I’m no puritan, but I do think 16 is too young to be having ‘the sex.’ If you’re too young to handle the consequences you’re too young to be doing the dirty.

Why not use protection?? WHY?? In Denmark its normal to have sex around that age if you have a steady boyfriend, but its just plain stupidity not to protect yourself!

I don’t 16 is too young to have sex if you’re in a good relationship, but you’re old enough to know you need to use protection. There is a 16 girl at my school who is pregnant for the THIRD time. Even though we’ve had tonnes of health classes on sexual education, she thought her and her boyfriend would be okay if they used the withdrawal method…HELLO?!? Does not work! I mean, wouldn’t you realise that by the third time? Gah!
You know, a 16 year old having sex isn’t what’s off about the whole thing, it’s the fact that she was living with the guy. What kind of a parent lets their kid live with somebody at sixteen? Curfew my ass!

Not all teenagers are like that, though. My uncle was 19 when he met a girl, aged 17. They shared a house, and are still together to this day, with two kids.
But then there’s the opposite side of the coin. I know some girls who are like, “Oh, I love you, I love you” to a guy they’ve been dating for two weeks. Puh-lease, that’s lust and hormones, not love.
I think everyone needs to hop off their soapbox for a second and be realistic. How many GROWN celebrities have unplanned pregnancies? Hell, where do I begin? Let’s see, there’s Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Giada De Laurentiis, Nicole Richie, Lily Allen, etc, etc, etc. There’s no need to beat up a 16 year old kid for doing the same thing. She fucked up. It happens.
And 16 IS too young to be having sex. Yes, most of us were having sex at that age (including me) but it doesn’t mean that you’re mature enough to handle everything that comes along with it. As an adult, sex is complicated enough.

hotbitch: not to sound bitchy or anything, but Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba et al are adults who are pregnant, planned or not, they are not 16 year old kids with a bun in the oven. Jamie didn’t just “fuck up”…. a “fuck up” is driving drunk or getting caught with drugs…. She’s 16 and bringing a human being into the world. We all know who’s going to be raising this child: Lynn Spears, her mother.

Think of all the teen age girls out there who aren’t famous who are sleeping with their boyfriends because that is just the way life happens. Yeah there is self control, and birth control and blah blah blah blah, but these are teens and everything is right now, and all about them. They never really think outside the moment or about anything other than how they can get what they want from anyone who is able to deliver the goods. No matter how well you raise them there will always be a cute boy whispering things a girl wants to hear in her ear to get into her pants.

my neighbours daugther got pregnant at 16, got married, dropped out from school and kept the child. it’s been 6 years now and my neighbour is still supporting her daugther because both her daugther and son-in-law are earning so little. its quite depressing. there goes your life. ive a feeling her baby is gonna be worse off than britneys two boys.
You know there is some teenage mom are good mom. And to be honest it’s not the fact that she had sex at 16 (I tend to think people can do whatever they want they just have to assum the consequenses) What I think is pretty strange is that she is christian, she did make love before mariage (once again i don’t care) but why she doesn’t get ride off the kid? But… I also read that supposedly she’s farther along in her prgnancy than 12 weeks — rather, she’s actually closer to 16 weeks. — which puts her back to knowing about it in July….
