Rain couldn’t dampen the pulling power of Aussie superstar Nicole Kidman, as nearly 1000 onlookers showed up at the Sydney premiere of her latest movie, The Golden Compass, on Saturday.
The Oscar winner, who wore a striking silver pant suit and spent about 10 minutes meeting fans and signing autographs, said she was happy to make a film in which a little girl was the protagonist. Nicole is equally happy to be spending Christmas with her family in Australia - and not to be working. Her latest project, the Baz Luhrmann epic, Australia, which also stars Hugh Jackman, wraps up on Wednesday after nine months of filming.

Yuk. Everything about this whole look is just awful. The metallic suit just is wrong and looks like some bad 90s, millenium, futuristic look and yes her hair color doesn’t look good here…too orange and just lacking any depth. Much like Nicole in my opinion actually. I do have to admit I’m looking foward to Australia though…9 months of filming? It’s gotta be good! And seeing as its about my home country and directed by Baz….its gotta be a winner!!

whoa…her hair is seriously frizzing up. my hair does the exact same thing in humid weather. it looks like she tried to flatiron it, but once she got outside, it turned to all hell.

I love Nicole but this outfit should shut the coffin on ’skinny’ pants. If someone as skinny as her can look that awful in pegged pants, then they should be expelled from the planet. That said, I’m dying to see the Golden Compass.
