Just as expected, Britney Spears’ latest video for Piece of Me is utterly lackluster.The song is wicked. The production value is high. The only problem seems to be….Britney.
Aside from a brief 30-second chorgeographed dance routine near the end that is reminiscent of a Britney from yesteryear, this 3-minute video is nothing more than Britney bopping her head to the music in front of a green screen. Booooring!!!

I love how everyone is obsessed with Britney but they don’t know how to give credit when credit is due. YEAH, it wasn’t the best video of the year, but it was still HOT and she looks GREAT in the video. Keep in mind… she has had TWO babies and her body looks great!!

You guys don’t get it do you. Britney Spears feeds off of the negative publicity. She makes a ton of money off of it everyday. She is trying to be the next Madona. Most likely majority of you are too young to remember Madona’s younger days. She was a young sensation…and then she did completely stupid things to stay in the spotlight. About 95 percent of yong popstar sensations disappear after 5 years. You just don’t see them anymore. They are zip…GONE. But Britney stays alive by doing rediculous things, losing child custody, getting rediculous drunk and partying. Lets be honest…who wouldn’t enjoy going around getting drunk and partying at exclusive bars and clubs and getting paid for it.
Bottom line is…she keeps her image alive. Madonna did the same thing. I mean come on…the relationship with Dennis Rodman? All of hte other guys she slept with. Madonna was bashed with parenting concerns and such. Only then…the media wasn’t as bad as it is now (with the internet)…but it was still pretty bad.
Britney will do what Madonna did. Madonna fucked around for a good decade…disappeared for a few…and then came back more serious and professional (sort of). The fact that Madonna had stuck in our minds for all of those years…had embedded her permantely in pop culture…that she became a megastar during her “professional” return. Britney is currently at around the stage where Madonna started posing nude in films and magazine. So that should happen pretty soon. Then she will put out one more cd, and disappear for a good 3 to 5 years. She will return serious…and everyone will flock to the comeback story…and regain love for her. It’s systematic. Keep feeding her…you’re doing what she wants you to do.

I kind of like it. The song is tongue in cheek, and I like that. I realize it’s not as good as vintage Britney, but it’s so much better than anything we’ve seen recently! I do miss her old dance moves, though.

God the britney bashing is just getting old. There is NO OTHER ARTIST who gets picked apart about every little thing she does. And this website never has anything remotely positive to say about it. I don’t think this video is up to the old Britney standards but I don’t expect it to be. However I don’t think its much different or any worse than most of the videos out there. If you are comparing this video to the rest in the top 40, its good, but comparing it to Britney’s other videos its mediocre. I think she is looking great in the video, especially in the purple dress with her hair up. To show a before/after video and pick on her body is just low. Mean. So overall I think the video concept is good but predictable, I think Brit looks great…but I wish she had a bit more energy in her solo dance and that there was more complex dance routines. The thing is we all know she’s capable of it, she just can’t be assed.
