Tennis ace Venus Williams has netted a degree in fashion design.
The three-times Wimbledon Champion swapped her white tennis skirt for a black cap and gown as her family watched her graduate with honours from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday.
The banner day came after eight years of class work, because Venus’ studies were frequently interrupted by her tennis career. She won her fourth Wimbledon title in July.
Proud mum Oracene Price, dad Richard Williams and sister Serena Williams were all on hand to watch the ceremony.
Also attending her graduation were her sisters Lyndrea Price and Isha Price and her boyfriend PGA pro golfer Hank Kuehne.
Congratulations, girl!

That’s great, it’s nice to know that some people realise they need to be qualified in order to design something and that bein “famous” isn’t enough.

Wait, are you sure you got the right sister? Serena’s the one with a fashion line, Aneres.

Venus has one too - EleVen

no, I’m pretty sure Venus has the line.

Venus has teamed with Steve & Barry’s to launch her own fashion line EleVen which has been in stores since Nov. Serena has her own line of designer clothing called Aneres — her first name spelled backward. But yeah, go Venus!

That’s great! Good for her! I think its good when celebrities realise that they should always have something else to fall back on in their lives and careers. Venus has been designing sportswear for a while I think and its good to see she’s decided to learn how to make the most of her skills, unlike a lot of other celebs who feel that just putting their name on something seems to be enough to call them a designer. Congrats Venus!
