Nutty ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ host Ty Pennington was arrested in Los Angeles on Saturday morning on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol and drugs while driving, TMZ reports.
Pennington was released two hours later after posting $5,000 bail and giving the holding cell a super-cool ‘Wild, Wild West’ theme.
UPDATE: Ty just issued a statement through his publicist about the incident:
“I made an error in judgment. We all make mistakes, however this is about accountability. Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving. I could have jeopardized the lives of others and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone. This was my wake-up call. I also want to apologize to my fans, ABC Television and my design team for my lapse in judgment and the embarrassment I have caused.â€

So Paris goes to jail and he gets let off with a fine? And she didn’t even have drugs in her system? It makes me really think that Nicole Richie will just have to go to jail. Her offence was a lot worse than Paris’s.
I’ve always liked this guy. He’s always just so enthusiastic….I love it! Hope he’s learnt his lesson.
eh, i kind of always want to throw something at this guy. but why are people “disappointed” in this guy? did you raise him wrong or something? dude is an actor/stunt handyman on a couple of cheesy reality shows, not your first-born.
oh. . .and paris got a jail sentence for driving with a suspended license which violated her probation, not for the original drunk driving offense.
According to CNN, he was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol AND DRUGS. Only alcohol is mentioned in his apology statement. He may go to rehab, but ABC and Sears won’t stand for this. I bet they both drop his ass.
