The disgraced star appeared happy as she partied until 4 AM with frienemy Paris Hilton, but reportedly made a late-night phone call to K-Fed — who currently has full custody of their two sons — pleading with him to join her.
A source tells Page Six: “She begged him to come out with her. Kevin reminded her that one of them needed to be a parent and take care of the boys. Then she hung up on him. Kevin said she was drinking.” (Umm….duh!)
Meanwhile, the only thing more damaged than Brit’s personal life appears to be her career. The latest? The Britster was nearly replaced in her music video for new single Pieces of Me.
The suits over at Jive Records were apparently left furious after the down-and-out songstress failed to turn up for the shoot, and threatened to give the half million dollar set to new singer Samantha Jade to use for her own video.
“Britney was supposed to shoot a video for her song Pieces of Me last week,” dishes a record industry insider. “Jive hired Wayne Isham to direct, had all the dancers there - hair, make-up and everything. But she refused to come. Jive was really upset. They were going to use it for another Jive artist, Samantha Jade, because it was too expensive to just scrap. But Britney finally showed up 12 hours late when she realized a new, younger, hotter girl would take her slot.”

i was curious about the samantha chick so i checked her out. she sounds like any other crappy popstar BUT there’s a clip of her singing the national anthem and the girl CAN sing. made me think of britney on ’star search’. she could sing when she was a little girl so what the hell happened to her voice??
