Expectant couple Joel Madden and Nicole Richie get all parental the launch of The Richie Madden Children’s Foundation at the L.A. Free Clinic in Hollywood on Monday.
The perfectly paired duo hosted a surprise baby shower for 100 expectant and new moms, where they handed out more than $200 000 worth of gifts.
Nicole told reporters after the shower: “The looks on their faces were priceless. Some of them didn’t even believe us [when they saw the gifts]. They thought we were joking.”

FINALLY, some GOOD news about a celebrity doing something for someone less fortunate (other than Brangelina). Nicole looks GREAT and happy. Good for her and her baby’s daddy for stopping to think about others less fortunate and actively doing something about it!

yup, she looks good, but I can’t get schmooshy over two idiots working an unplanned pregnancy so hard for publicity. and i especially can’t help but be dismayed that joel madden’s genes are being perpetuated.
^fume, most pregnancies are unplanned — if you think otherwise, you’re living in lala land. And as far as publicity, as long as it’s to bring awareness to a good cause, i personally don’t give a fuck how many cameras are there.
She looks really good now, I agree that the pregnancy agrees with her. And she looks cute holding the baby, she looks like she’s ready to have a baby.
And I agree with Supernova, who cares about publicity, its a good thing that they did, and those mothers are probably relieved to have been helped.
She looks AMAZING. And I give them props for donating all this stuff to charity and starting a foundation when they don’t have to. You can tell she’s truly turned her life around.
Fume.. WE barely see or hear anything out of them.. if they created an organization to help mothers, of course they will need to publicize it so they can start getting donations, IDIOT!
And do you even know Joel? He is actually a very kind and humble person. He used to be friends with my ex and is a very sweet guy who has OBVIOUSLY changed Nicole’s life for the better. GEEZ
