‘THE GOLDEN COMPASS’ REACHES ENGLAND

the-golden-compass-premiere-london.jpg

Showing off her dark eyebrows and even darker lipstick, big screen beauty Nicole Kidman fails to impress (shocking, I know) at The Golden Compass world premiere held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London on Tuesday.

Joined by her country crooner hubby Keith Urban, the 40-year-old actress appears to have matched the colour of her couture gown with the colour of her skin and hair. Not a good look to say the least.

On the bright side, Nicole’s latest effort with costar Daniel Craig is getting rave reviews. Previously trapped in the awful The Invasion earliy this year, this highly anticipated fantasy film offers both stars a chance to redeem themselves nicely. It turns out that they make a good onscreen couple after all, even though they’re really not onscreen together in Compass.

Just once, I’d like to see her go back to the red hair instead of that dry, dead, mop that’s currently residing on her head.

Rave reviews??? I’ve been reading that this film is ruined by overuse of a CGI polar bear wearing armor. Hmmm…
And what is this stupid “spymac” shit anyhow??? Enough spamming already!

Are you surprised by the rave reviews? The author is on record saying he wants to destroy the myth of God and the press is very obviously in the same pursuit. They aren’t getting my $9.

Why is Nicoles husband so tan and she’s sooooooo not? Either he needs to lay low on the tan or she needs to get some color.

What I love about Christians is they are so sure of themselves that they feel threatened by a children’s film.

Its weird that people are upset about the CGI- its a fantasty film! I highly recommend the book (trilogy) to anyone- it is brilliant!

No, Pullman has gone on the record many times and stated that he wants to “kill God in the minds of children.”
I get the fact that he’s an atheist, but I don’t need his theories shoved down my throat as much as every other religious fanatic. It’s OK to be a skeptic and a naturalist, but there are different ways of going about it rather than making blunt statements like that.

Hollywood would like you to believe its just a children’s movie and get your children excited about this water downed version THEN when the other two come out the kids are already hooked.

Eva Green looks amazing. She can pull off old Hollywood really well.

No actually, the article on snopes are omitting some facts and takes quotes out of context at best, and worst it’s bunch of lies with a tiny bit of truth. His Dark Materials isn’t anti-religious! But so what if they were? Narnia can be fed to little children, but the moment something contrary to the Christian belief - the world is ending?! Get over yourselves! Fundamentalist freaks!

Love the dress…just not on Nicole. These sexy dresses she chooses just go to waste on her…in my eyes she has absolutely zero sex appeal. She often seems to go for pale colors and they do nothing for her complexion.

Is Nicole’s husband off the wagon again? He looks high as a kite and she looks worried about what he is going to do. They never look right together.

His Dark Materials is one of the best pieces of literature ever written and the film looks like a fine adaptation. The book, far from being anti-religious is one of the most spiritual books ive ever read yet it attacks with venom and vast intelligence the power structures of world religions that are hell bent on destroying the world. At a time when Sudanese are baying for death of a teacher for the smallest indescretion and very religious Christian Western leaders are culling the middle east this story is of vital importance…also read ‘paradise lost’ the poem on which the book is based
