‘Tis the season for the world’s loveliest young girls to begin blossoming into young women. This rite of passage is known as “coming out “ as in making one’s formal “ debut†into high society. A debutante.
Reality stars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port were among the glamour girls at last night’s Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris.
The annual invite-only event is billed as a unique forum for the presentation of the world’s most eligible young ladies. The ball is also referred to as the Le Bal de Haute Couture, because it is also a catwalk of the endless creativity of France’s top couturiers including Christian Dior, Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Le Bal benefits the Saint Lazare, the humanitarian organization that helps the under privileged in more than thirty countries who are sick and have been rejected by society (i.e. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt).

Wow what an honor for them to be asked to this event. I’d say its more through their work with Teen Vogue than it is their reality tv show. I remember my debut, I think its such a nice event for girls to take part in. I know some people think its sexist or whatever but its a nice tradition to keep up I think.
They both look great, I love Whitney’s dress….very classic. Lauren’s needs pulling up however. Would look so much better with a bit more support.

This was more to do with Vogue than anything else. The girls who attend this ball are generally form the wealthiest families in the world & royalty - not reality stars from southern california. The only american girls in the past few years have been the Trainas & the Hearsts. I’m astounded that these girls were invited, they most certainly would have bn looked down upon by the other girls. I wonder who their partners were? All girls need a partner to accompany them to the ball.

They do look lovely but I think that they may have been working the even for Teen Vogue because Whitney is carrying what appears to be folders in that bag.

Given that Whitney is carrying a shopping bag with what appears to be work materials,they evidently are working (and filming an episode of The Hills?) while attending.
They look very pretty and pulled together.
