The day has finally come — teen sensation Miley Cyrus is making her inaugural visit to The Oprah Winfrey Show!!
The Hannah Montana star tells O that, despite her father’s hesitation, she is ready to date!
Here’s a sneak peek at what she and her country star dad, Billy Ray, said:

Oprah: Are you allowed to date?
Miley: I am, but my dad is, like, weird and the other day I had one of my guy friends over — (laughter) — and he was — he was hiding in the kitchen. We were outside just like hanging out and I look around… why are the lights on? They were not on and my dad’s standing there like this. (indicating/laughter) He’s standing there with his German Shepherd watching us (laughter) and I’m, like, dad, you’re gonna scare him. I’m not going to have anymore friends.

Oprah: Were you really looking outside the window…
Miley: Don’t start.
Billy Ray: I don’t think it quite happened like that.
Miley: The lights were off, the lights were on, you were sitting there with a dog watching.
Billy Ray: I was kidding them.
Oprah: You were kidding them.
Billy Ray: Because they knew I was there. It’s not like I was spying.
Oprah: Not like you were spying. Yeah. Are you nervous about the whole dating thing?

I’m right there with him. My daughters have a boy over and its living room/kitchn or BuhBye. I don’t have a dog but I might could train the cat to attack if the boy gets too close.
Phew, thank god I have boys, I don’t have to worry about that!! Well, I still have to teach them to be good, responsible boys, but I can’t imagine what parents of girls must go through and all that worrying that incurs.

im always suspicious when a parent starts whoring out their kids for $$$$. look whats happened to britney and lindsay.
however the constatnt presence of billy in this girls life and the obvious love they share makes me think that maybe this is one girl who a. was born to perform and loves it and b. has a caring father who is concerned that his daughter is raised with morals and is protected from the worst of the bullshit. Miley appears to be a nice, happy, talented girl who is having the time of her life.

Awwww that’s sweet that he is a caring dad. A lot of celebrity parents seem to whore them out young and not care what is going on in their personal lives as long as their career is succeeding. So its nice to see. I don’t know much about Miley but I hope she doesn’t go off the rails.

You should read up and realize that she has much support from her family and strong morals that will not allow her to become the next Britney. It’s possible but, based on what were seeing here so far she’s got a great head on her shoulders to keep her stablized.
