BABIES UNDER FIRE

dennis-quaid-twins.jpg

Lindsay. Nicole. Britney.

It seems by the day, more and more of Young Hollywood is getting hooked and OD’ing on drugs.

The latest culprits? Dennis Quaid’s newborn twins, who are fighting for their lives after they were accidentally overdosed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Sources tell us the twins — Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace — were accidentally given a massive dose of Heparin, an anti-coagulant. Babies typically get 10 units. Our sources says they were each mistakenly given 10,000 units. The drug is used to flush out IV lines and prevent blood clots. We’re told one dose was given on Sunday morning, another on Sunday evening.

We’re told late Sunday night, both babies started to “bleed out.” Both babies are now at Cedars in the neo-natal intensive care unit where we’re told they are stable.

Dennis’ kids are now being given Protamine, which reverses the effects of Heparin.

Cross your fingers and pray that these two lil’ tykes pull through. Hospital negligence is so unnecessary and entirely avoidable.

Stay tuned for more. Something tells us this is only the beginning!

Seriously, Arasto. We know how bad your days used to be when you were stalking Perez, spewing an undefinable amount of hatred towards him, and now you’re morphing into him. Scary/sad/tragic/unnecessary. I let the “rape baby” shit fly because it was just, well, stupid, but come on…two infants are fighting for their lives and you somehow still find it OK to joke about it?

But you’re right about one thing; it was an unnecessary event.

Many prayers/wishes of good health go out to Denis and his family.

That’s really sad. I hope they fired the person/persons that ‘accidentally’ gave them this lethal dose. The carelessness sometimes @ hospitals….UNREAL. Suppose to be given 10 units and were given 10,000?! That’s HUGE! I’d own Cedars Sinai when this was all said and done!

That is so sad. Hope they make it through the recovery. Jeez, even Cedars Sinai, the hospital celebrities use is not safe. Can the person responsible be held accountable?

I, Cubanita is a feces eating dog knot lover! I know this for truth. I, Cubanita likes for the dog to have both testicles and larger breeds is preferred [wink wink].
I, Cubanita clean the rectumS of homeless men behind the McDonalds with tongue, in exchange for kind words of encouragement. I, Cubanita bends over to accept the present from the dog knot!
I, Cubanita, such shame and icky.
I, Cubanita skins cats and puppies so as to make nice winter coat! Truth!

You are all free to go to other blogs or write your own if you’re not happy with what you read here. Nothing said on this site is going to effect the babies one way or the other so I don’t see the big deal.

I was actually more offended by the line “hospital negligence is SO avoidable”– umm its human error. Doctors and nurses are fucking crucified for making a mistake under incredible amounts of stress, pressure, exhaustion etc. The heath industry has one of the highest rates of suicide. So yes i really really hope these babies survive but if they don’t then I hope the person that accidentally overdosed them also survives.

    November-20-2007 @ 7:05 pm

Oh my gosh this is absolutely awful. Definately not something to joke about. I can see where you are coming from SAS, but when doctors and nurses are working with people’s LIVES they need to be able to put all kinds of stress aside. If they can’t manage to do that, than they shouldn’t be in that industry. Sure it was an accident on the doctor or nurse’s part, but its an accident that really shouldn’t happen if they are aware of everything they are doing. Giving someone a wrong dosage that is 1000 times bigger than what their body can take is a big deal! I really hope these babies are ok and pull through. My prayers are with his family.

    November-20-2007 @ 8:09 pm

I agree 100% with SAS. Nobody is perfect, but doctors and nurses are expected to be, and expected never to make mistakes. That’s an inhuman standard to hold humans to. Mistakes can and will and do happen, even under the best of circumstances. Like SAS, I hope with all my heart those poor babies survive, and I just as fervently hope that the poor person who made this mistake isn’t crucified for it.
