ANGIE’S ADOPTION IS BY THE BOOK

angie-and-zah.jpg

A recent (and ridiculously wrong!) tabloid report from In Touch magazine claimed that Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, the woman who was said to be the birth mother of Zahara, wanted the child back back from adoptive mother Angelina Jolie.

According to the tab, Zahara was conceived when her mother was raped by a stranger who broke into her home.

Well, folks, don’t believe everything you read — especially when it’s in the pages of In Touch magazine.

According to the agency that approved it in 2005, Angelina’s adoption of her baby girl from Ethiopia was totally “legal.” Not only that, but Dr Berhe, head of the Wide Horizons for Children agency, tells Reuters that the senseless “media hype by unethical journalists.”

“The court also investigated the social status of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt before approving the adoption,” he added.Dr Berhe said the adoption was “legal and irrevocable.”

What’s more? During the adoption process, Zahara’s grandmother brought three witnesses to court who testified that Zahara’s mother had died and that her father was unknown.

That has to be the worst nightmare imaginable when you’ve adopted a child.

Zahara is old enough to walk. She’s at least 3 years now? Does the parent think it’s prettier in photograph with Zahara carried?

dd - I think she’s holding Z because of safety concerns. With all the paps around, I wouldn’t be letting my kid go either.

And yet you’ll be back to quoting their nonsense in 5-4-3-2…

Your story is not really accurate. The tabloid does not state that it was illegal but that the mother is alive which is probably true. yes it was legal just like adoptions in the states but that doesn’t mean that the bio mother can’t try to see them. Angie should really let this grandmother she is grandchild.

Guest - who cares what the tabloid ’states’. IMO adoption cases should be private matters, so why does In Touch feel the need to make any type of ’statements’ about this really.

As an adopted child I don’t feel comfortable with open adoptions. I met my birth mother and her brood as an adult and it was awkward enough, I couldn’t imagine having to deal with that as a child. My birth-”mother” kept asking me to call her mom, but she wasn’t my mom, the mom who raised me was my mom. She had imagined some kind of connection that just wasn’t there.

Their own lives are two big ugly messes and now what a big ugly mess for their kids lives, with Zahara’s mother wanting her back. It just shows they should have supported her MOTHER and not adopted. They are trying to be hip and her real mother is trying to survive.

How does In Touch know that this Zahara’s birth family. I’m sure that she wasnt the only infant at this orphanage in July 05 .Also last year a British tabloid did an interview with another woman claiming to be her grandmother. That woman said her daughter was 18 when she died and gave different name for Zahara’s birth name than in the In Touch article. This birth mother claims she’s 24 if I’m not mistaken I read the article in the checkout lane so I may have misread

I’m sure Ange would have made sure everything was done by the books. It would be absolutely awful if this little girl was taken off them. Brad and Ange would be absolutely devastead and I’m sure the other three kids would miss their sister!
