White after Labor Day?!?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren’t fashion mavens — they’re fashion outlaws!!

Looking almost angelic, the troll-like twins broke every style rule known to fashionista as they attended the Seventh on Sale dinner gala to benefit the fight against HIV and AIDS in New York City on Thursday.

We’re not sure what’s more strange to see — the whacky hot pink platforms on MK’s feet or that foreign, never-before-seen smile gracing her face?

^^^ Your right, white can be worn in winter now. In fact it’s really popular to wear white in winter. MK outfit is just hideous and those shoes are even more hideous. Ashley looks very angelic and classy.

Seriously, how can you tell which one is which?

But the one wearing a turkish towel as a frock is looking ridiculous. If you think my frock is funny, look at my shoes!

It si TOTALLY acceptable to wear white after labor day. Especially in cities that stay summerlike all year round.
Ick, MK had her nose done a few months back- it is really easy to tell them apart now. MK was the first pic- Ashley is in the lower ones.

i think that those platforms MK is wearing are the same as the one Posh was wearing last month or so in a photoshoot of Elle magazine in Paris, but her pair was silver.
Other than tidbit of info, i think both MK and Ashley look nice in white, and I like the fact that they remain faithful to their personal styles..

I think they look exactly alike and wouldn’t even waste my time differenciating between them.

Those are platform sandals by Giambattista Valli, named after Victoria Beckham.

I’ve never understood that whole white after Labor day thing? Is their a reason for that that I’ve missed out on???
I think they both look really good here, Ashley’s dress is absolutely gorgeous and Mary-Kate’s shoes are the hotness. It’s the most normal I’ve seen her look in a long time.

These two look like they stopped growing after they reached 16. I cd never look at them as grown ”women” of 21 and perhaps thats why it seems pedophilic when they date older men.Eeeks!

I am sure Ashley is going to punish herself when she comes home for almost smiling. They look cute and I want to marry the pink platforms..

Amy, the “no white after Labor Day” is purely a fashion construct. Supposedly it reminded people not to wear summer-weight clothing during inclement weather, and really concentrated on white pumps and matching handbags. It DOES look foolish to wear lightweight shoes during the winter, when they can be ruined by snow or rain and are generally uncomfortable during cooler weather, but if you need a fashion ‘rule’ to remind you of that, well…

Dare I say it…. they’re looking almost healthy these days.

Feh! I’m still an Olsen Troll hater. Their hair sucks, as usual, so at least they’re consistent.

MK looks like she’s wearing an oversized romper, and the hot-pink platforms are just wrong this time of year.

I actually like Ashley’s dress, but could she please learn to get her dresses hemmed properly? With all that freaking money, she could afford to have a tailor on call 24/7 to make sure her dresses don’t drag on the floor.

The only time these girls manage to look good is when they’re on the cover of a magazine, and someone else is in charge of dressing them, and doing their hair and makeup properly. Left to their own devices, these girls always manage to look like homeless bums.

karafarrah, thanks for answering! but wow, that still confuses me how a white bag or a white knit woolly jumper can be inappropriate in winter. even white knit dresses for that matter! no lightweight clothing makes sense, and i imagine white shoes are hard to keep clean in any weather.. so i wonder who made up that rule..

The “no white after Labor Day” rule refers to shoes and handbags, not clothing.

just askin’, are you sure? i remember in “never been kissed” drew barrymore says something along the lines of “that’ll teach me to wear white jeans after labor day”.. that’s the only time i’d heard it and that sparked my curiosity
