That sure looks to be the case. An arrest warrant has been issued in Japan for whale lover Hayden Panettiere.
In a new interview with E!, the Heroes cutie says: “I learned today that I have an arrest warrant out for me in Japan because of what I did for Save the Whales.”
When asked about the consequences the 18-year-old star said, “Potentially jail, but I doubt it…I guess they could come here and get us, but probably not.â€
So, would she do it again? “I’d do it again. Very possibly, might do it again,†she says.
And you thought Hayden was only a wanted woman here in America!

I LOVE this girl as well. She is so beautiful and you can tell if she believes in something she’ll stand behind 110%. I don’t know why a lot of people don’t like this girl???

This is old news - it was reported right after the protest that arrest warrants were out, but most of those protesters had already left the country.
What the hell is she doing in that picture? I stand by her. I know a lot of people think what she did was stupid, but you can’t save the whole world. You have to take it one cause at a time and what’s most important to you.
^^An 18 year old girl going into another country, confronting grown men and breaking the law NOT HELPING ANYTHING. If you had on a leather jacket and someone ran up to you and threw blood on your jacket or sliced it with a razor blade and scolded you for wearing an animal, would that be okay with you BeJeeBus? What if someone did that to your daughter or son? Personally, I just can’t condone that behavior.
^Also, I think it’s the easy way of doing things. People do things like this when they feel powerless. If she’s so intelligent, then why can’t she figure out a way to help her cause without breaking the law and insulting another culture?

BeJeeBus…She broke the law. There were far better alternatives to this. Wouldn’t it have made more sense to join (or start) a charity meant to raise awareness about this, one that could offer alternatives to these fishermen? She would have been taken far more seriously, and might have actually done something to end (or at least curb) this. All she did was succeed in getting a photo taken of her. I have far more respect for people who do things the right way and actually succeed in making a difference than for the people who show up, do something idiotic that doesn’t help, then leave immediately after to avoid the consequences.
She really didn’t attack anyone or kill anyone. She may have broken the law, but for the sake of good, not for her personal gain. I do understand why some of you disagree with me, and tht’s fine, I just don’t see the completely horrible thing she did. Maybe I am being naive, and both supernova and Kidge make valid points, but like you said she is just 18 and this is her way of showing awareness. She will hopefully learn that there are better ways to communicate with people/ achieve your goal.
^BeJeeBus, I hear you. Also, though, she may have caused harm to herself (more than anything). Those men would have beaten the crap out of her if those cameras were not on (and they almost did even WITH them on). A lot of this, i agree, is her being young. If she continues fighting for cause (and good for her if she does) she will most likely mature and find more constructive ways to bring awareness to her cause.

I think its fantastic what she did to help the whales! I would be saying the exact same thing if I was in her shoes. And what’s all this bullshit about that being in ‘their’ culture?? Killing and eating other people in the tribe used to be in European culture and you don’t see them going around and doing it anymore do you? Because its wrong.
