Grey’s Anatomy’s Ellen Pompeo has tied the knot with her music exec beau, Chris Ivery.
The pair — who got engaged a year ago — wed Friday in a brief ceremony at New York’s City Hall, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg — a Massachusetts native like Pompeo, 38 — served as their witness, The Boston Globe reports. First Deputy Mayor Patti Harris accompanied the couple, the paper said.”They are over the moon,” the Globe quoted Pompeo’s rep, Jennifer Allen, as saying.
As you may (or may not) recall, Ellen has gone on endlessly in the past saying she wouldn’t go for the usual Hollywood hoopla, preferring a quiet wedding instead. And low-key it was. The ceremony was only minutes long and Bloomberg was their sole withness.

congrats to them. i will say that publicists need to get some sort of thesaurus that will allow them to say something other than ‘over the moon’. i can’t even count how many times i have heard this recently

Why do people call him a music executive. Where does he work? Hasn’t he been to prison in the past for something? I love when they were on Punk’d and some waitress kept hitting on him. She was getting so pissed! You would never think she would get like that.

Like her or not, you gotta give them props for not making a ridiculous spectacle of their wedding. If only more went for the low-key approach. I remember hearing something about that guy getting busted for something, but it was years and years ago…she knows but laughs it off as ancient history that doesn’t matter. So good for her/them!

i dont like the fact that he is black dating her. and dont say nothing because back a while you whites didnt want the same, now some of you feel its ok because a lot of you are doing it. well its not ok and i wish white women would stay with their own men like the middle eastern people do. and im not a racist ive had white people in my house. too much black man white woman dating. why are they not with the white man he has mostly all the money, so it aint about the money. what is it then? like i dont know. yeah im shallow but i damn sure wasnt born this way and my parents never said dont like whites. so somewhere it cahnged.

Really sad you can’t get past skin color because that’s all it really is. BTW.. my friend is white and dates a former Ms. India.. so, no the middle easterns, as you call them, don’t necessarily do the same. It’s more about religion in those regions.. so, again, I’m sorry you are misinformed.. very very sorry. THANK GOD FOR MIXED COUPLES.. or my daddy wouldn’t be here to produce ME! But then again, in Puerto Rico.. there’s no race as far as color.. only being Puerto Rican.. THANK GOD for that!

i agree with dino about mixing the races, its mostly blackmen and white women. i dont like it either and whatever the middle easterners do with religion its mainly keeps them to their own. the main reason i have a problem with white women dating our black men is because of the past. i have had relatives who where beaten by police for being with a white woman. and to me a white woman is not special or better than anyone, there was a time when a black man was hauled off to jail for supposedly, looking at a white woman or saying that the man wanted to rape her. no i cant get past it and it is not that easy when you have had so much racisim happen to your family memebers because of a white woman. i will never get over it and i have 4 sons and i tell them every day to not go any where with a white woman. i know it sounds bad but i have heard the same thing from white parents to their white daughters, and soon as those girls get a chance they are dating a black guy. but not my sons, they made a solemn promise and a oath to me to stay the hell away from that crap. too much hatred and my sons dont need that in their life.

baby cakes, I have no idea how old your sons are but if they are dating and live in a city (urban area), please do not be shocked when you find out that at least one of your four sons has and/or will date women who are white. Your protests against interracial dating only sparks the interest they need to see what and why it is forbidden.
Let them fall in love with whomever they choose. As long as they treat each other right - no violence, no cheating - who cares.
Thank God for my white granddaddy for having the nerve to date and marry my black grandmother in the 1930s, producing my mom.
Racism is alive and well America - on both sides, black and white. Shameful isn’t it.

melanin is a damn good thing to have! my mothers father was white and im sure i would have been produced by another . my grandmother was produced by black and black and she is very beautiful and proud. it has nothing to do with mixed couples making you. some consider me one fourth white. i dont say im anything but black and im proud of that. i am very light complexed, but iam so proud of my blackness till i want to shout it all over. the day that a mixed kid is considered white and black i will celebrate, but it is mostly when the kid is mixed its considered black.there are a hell of a lot of whites that dont accept mixed they call it black, which to me is a good thing for blacks since we are considered a minority. in my book im a majority and a hell of a wonderful human being.

Hate to burst your bubble Serena but if whites lose their majority status it’ll be to hispanics, not blacks. The four most populated states (CA, TX, NY, FL) are already seeing signs of it.

Its people who are biggoted in their beliefs that are setting back this country in making strides with racism.
If you don’t move on with your life and try to make a difference instead of feeding into segregated society (and YES, telling your children to not to date a certain race is helping segregation) then nothing will ever change. Instead of making it worse, wouldn’t you want to try to make it better? I dont get how you want to live in the past just because your ancestors had to. I would think that would make you more on fire to change the horrible things that happened to them.

You really need to expand your horizons and either meet some decent white people or get out of the area where you live, if you honestly think it would be dangerous for your sons to date a white woman there.
