Sources connected with Spears told TMZ yesterday that the drug that may have caused the positive was Provigil, used to treat narcolepsy. But TMZ did some digging and found Provigil would not show up on a court-ordered drug test.Hmmm….first she blamed a bad phone connect, then she said it was merely a false reading and now it’s her inhaler that is to blame?Now the same source says the drug that showed up may have been Albuterol, an asthma drug. But, again, we checked and Albuterol is not an amphetamine, and the class of drug that showed up on the test was an amphetamine.
Gee, if you ask me, it sounds like someone is grasping at (coke) straws.

She really is just a horrible excuse for a Mother. When you see those little boys faces you just really feel bad for them. She seems to not care one way or another if she gets to have a say in raising them. It is really disgusting. All she ever sang about was sex, sex, and more sex. Well now she has experienced what comes from it…. two kids. Surprise, surprise that she doesn’t want to take responsibility.

I vote Methney… that is the only way to logically explain the way that her face has aged in the last year… look at the skin around her mouth- classic meth face. I really wish I was wrong about her… Honestly, i think its a combo of psychological illness, selfishness, arrogance, poor life skills, enablers all around (alli and sam), and drug addiction… and if it really is meth then i dont see the future ending up well for her… so sad… poor kids…
I’m a substance abuse counselor, and I have to do drug screens on my patients all the time. Cocaine and crack show up as cocaine in a drug screen–not as amphetamines (no matter what Perez Hilton says). Asthma medicine and cold medicine (such as Sudafed) can produce false amphetamine positives on a drug screen, but it is very easy to run a GC/MS confirmation to find out what is really producing the result. For example, if one of my patients SWEARS they didn’t do any amphetamines, I request a GC/MS from the lab, and they can tell me exactly what substance it is–maybe cold medicine, maybe methamphetamines. I would think that the courts would shell out the $15 for the GC/MS confirmation test for Britney Spears!
have her visits with her kids been interrupted? if not, then it’s more than likely a false positive. but I just don’t understand why the drug testing is so full of hassles and speed bumps. Just do it, get the results, and act accordingly. I don’t want to hear about it five times a day.

why is kfed still not getting drug tested himself? no one took Courtney Loves child Frances away when she was all messed up on drugs (heroin)…too much emphasis on britney….just leave her alone and maybe she will straighten out….she wasnt like this before KFED!
I think people need to stop fishing around for dirt on Britney and just let the courts handle it. If there was an illegal drug found in her system they will be onto that and figuring out what to do with that information. TMZ and other random people need to let them to the job and stop pretending like they have the authority to do so. If there had been an illegal drug I’m sure something would have been done by now.

deedee– Kevin is also being drug tested- the deal is that they both need to have clean drug tests 12 hours before having the children and are subject to random drug testing. There’s no controversy with him.
And I’m not sure if you remember but britney was MARRIED “before Kfed” in a drug-fuelled vegas weekend- he is definitely not the one to blame for her being fucked up.
Please, anyone with a brain can see that she is clearly an addict. If it were anyone else (a non-celeb) they would be in deep, deep trouble for continuously breaking the “rules” of her visits with her children. She is not following any of the judges orders, so why in the hell is she allowed to continue and see them? It seems like this thing is just dragging on and on. Either choose the drugs or your kids Brit, I realize addiction is an awful thing but you’ve got tons of support and money up the ass to pay for damn good rehab and care.
DeeDee - CPS did take Frances Bean away from Courtney Love for a while, her mother got custody for 3+ years.
SAS, Kevin does not have drug tests. They have to be free from ALCOHOL for 12 hours before having custody. Britney is the only one required to take drug tests.
I’m like other people on here; when is the judge going to ask for a hair sample instead of pee? It’s a strange world we live in where KFed is the better parent of the two of them. I think it’s because he has some semblance of a support system where Brit has enablers. I guess this is what happens when no one tells you “No” your whole life.
