Divorce ain’t easy.And its apparently taken quite a toll Ryan Phillippe since splitting from Reese Witherspoon.
“After the divorce I was a physical wreck,” Phillippe tells the premiere issue of Man About Town magazine. “I wanted to die. I was ready to kill myself. I was not taking care of myself at all. I would wake up and cry and vomit.â€
But now, Ryan says, he uses the pain in his work. “Now, it’s f–king easy,†he says, when asked how he gets himself to cry in a film. “When I was younger, I didn’t have enough to cry about. But since I’ve had kids, I feel my work has become better, because my life is fuller and more complicated, and I’ve experienced so many highs and lows.â€
Oh, boo-hoo. Serves him right for cheating with his co-star!

Awwww…cheater or not, at least he’s remorseful and sad for the loss of his marriage. That’s just human, and it’s cool he’s admitting how hard it hit him instead of playing tough guy or acting like some unaffected, swaggering playa. Plus he’s hot. I’d eat his hot ass anytime.
I have no sympathy for people that cheat and get dumped. If that is what he actually did…. At least she had the guts to move on and find someone who wouldn’t fool around. People seem to have forgotten what marriage is all about.

Hmph. I’d be more impressed by his revelations of remorse if they were accompanied by a genuine admission of responsibility. Isn’t his cheating what put him on the road to such pain? Not once does he say, “…and it was all my own fucking fault.”

bejeebus - the girl outed him, he never denied it and 2 weeks later he was out, that’s pretty conclusive. Joan Baez was right, you don’t know what you’ve got til its gone. Ryan P and Ethan Hawke and even just regular guys married to gorgeous women still can help going out and trying to get it a little on the side. Sad sad sad.
It’s pure speculation that he cheated on his wife. And whether he did or not, I’m sure he felt awful about it and was upset by the separation from his family, just like Reese was. That picture with his kids is adorable, even if he was a sucky husband he seems like a good daddy.
We don’t know what broke them up, but I sure am curious. I read in some astrological web site that she and Ryan were solidly matched, but they had too many conflicting planets, which made it hard for them to compromise all the time and see each other’s side. The article also said she and Jake are an incredible match with a lot of compatible planets. They understand each other’s ambition and have the same fire signs whereas Ryan was more laid back and non-verbal. I hope this mean Reese and Ryan can one day become great friends again.
