Showing off her opulent lips, cute dimples and green eyes, 19-year-old R&B diva Rihanna graces the November 11 issue of Britain’s YOU magazine.
Rihanna on her father, a former crack addict:: “I had seen the marijuana and cocaine around him but I didn’t know what it was. I just knew that my mum didn’t like it, and they were always fighting about it. My mother was a very strong woman and tried to shelter us from as much as she could. But she was working, and he was at home, so there was only so much that she could hide from us. He’s OK, he’s drug-free now. He got over it a while ago because my mother wouldn’t let us go and see him otherwise. So he gave it up for us.”Rihanna on working with Justin Timberlake: “I was so starstruck at being in the same room as him.”
Rihanna on her good-girl-gone-bad image: “I felt I was embarking on a whole new image, a whole new journey. I wanted to differentiate myself from the past. I have come into my own and I know what I’m doing now. I’ve called the new album Good Girl Gone Bad because I was determined to do it my way, I was sick of listening to what everyone else wanted. This is the way I like to look and sound, so I became very rebellious – that’s the attitude of the entire project.”

I think what makes her raunchy is her willingness to get naked in order to further her career and her rebelliousness? Well, to get naked and practically simulate sex on stage to further her career but then deny that she is basically a very well paid stripper makes her quite rebellious.
See, say what you want about Dita Von Teese but at least she admits to what she’s doing.

I agree with Supersonic. Her voice GRATES on my ears although I was also sucked into the Umbrella song like the rest of the world. She turned into a “bad girl” because she knew she was going to be a one record wonder.
I kinda happen to like Rihanna’s voice. Everyone seems to be pissy about that, but she can sing just as well live as any other rnb diva out there. Yes even precious Beywhatsheherface. She has looked so sexy and confident ever since she got this new “image”. It may just be a ploy to sell more albums or to portay herself as more interesting than before, but whatever it is, it is working. I would instantly go gay for her, and I do’t say that often. Only her and Monica Belucci.

Seems like we are getting one hell of a lot of posts about this girl just on this site. I was not aware that she was that big of a deal….guess i’ll have to pay attention.
She’s a beautiful girl and these photos are stunning! I love her jewelry and her makeup is perfect! I really think she’s been very lucky in this industry though, her voice isn’t very good. She hits some horrific notes sometimes….Unfaithful anyone? She comes across as very packaged to me as well. Without Jay-Z and the catchy songs that have been written for her she’d still be a nobody I hate to say.

Over-exposed as hell. I don’t watch TV, rarely ever listen to radio, and avoid celeb magazines… but DAMN. I still feel like she is being shoved into my face, and I really only visit one or two blogs. Stephi, you described it perfectly with the “packaged” thing… that’s exactly how I feel about her too. She doesn’t feel authentic to me, just very processed… kind of the Britney Spears to R&B (back in her heyday).
