Double Oscar? Who needs it?!
Hilary Swank received a Time For Peace award on Thursday at the Hotel Bel-Air in Beverly Hills for her role in Freedom Writers, the true-story of a Southern California high school teacher who mentors and empowers gang youth and other troubled teens in her classroom.
Ms. Swank’s do-gooding apparently knows no boundaries. The two-time Oscar winner debuted her new ‘do after donating more than nine inches of her amber locks last week to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths charity campaign, which benefits women dealing with hair loss while undergoing chemotherapy.
The celeb stylist doing the cutting? None other than Oprah, of course!

I think her hair looks great this length, and it was very sweet to donate her hair. I know a couple of little kids who have done this too……..
I don’t get it, she gets an award for playying the part of someone real who did good. She didn’t write the script did she? Why doesn’t the real person get the friggin’ award?
I love the hair…I donated 11″ to Locks of Love back in March, and I love seeing celebrities do the same.
It was really great for her to donate her hair, but cutting it like this has aged her about 10 years! She looks a bit too mom-like.

I like Hilary with short hair… but not this style. It’s bland. She should go for some choppy layers and bangs. Or something. Anyway, I did the same thing Kidge :o). I always grow my hair out ridiculously long, and then chop it all off when I can’t take it anymore and donate it (my hair grows pretty fast– it’s already past my shoulders again and I donated back in July). Did anyone ever figure out if locks of love accepts dyed hair? Wasn’t Hilary’s hair dyed/highlighted? Just curious.
