Benicio is starring in The Argentine, a Steven Soderbergh-directed flick about the Cuban revolution, from the moment Fidel Castro, Guevara and other revolutionaries landed on the Caribbean island, until they toppled the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista two years later.
This film simply had to happen. I mean, the physical similarities are so striking somebody had to cast Benicio as Che.
Pity it won’t be completed till 2008.

Benicio is a PERFECT casting for Che. Soderberg as director is too Hollywood, directors like Guillermo de Toro or Pedro Almodovar would be much better choices. They would be able to convey to the audience the real Latin socialist flavor.
