Clad in a white and brown sari with a vermillion Tilak on her forehead, Hollywood star Goldie Hawn was spotted leaving the Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi, India recently after performing Ganga Aarti.

The aarti is a ritual of worshipping the Ganges river where the audience sings Bhajans, a type of Indian devotional song.

The 63-year-old actress and practising Buddhist is said to have taken time out to visit an ashram where she offered flowers to the portrait of late guru guru Devkinandan Shastri, whom she first met in 1982 and who imparted her lessons in astrology and spirituality.

Says Goldie: “I am fascinated by India and it’s culture and colours. This is my seventh visit to the holy city and the main purpose of the visit was to pay homage to my late guru, who imparted me lessons in astrology and spirituality.”
