The actor/director looked a little tired but was all smiles as he made his way to the set of The Beaver in upstate New York.
Meanwhile, Mel’s girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva – who gave birth to a daughter called Lucia last Friday — is convinced they have a long future ahead of them - because they are “very, very happy together” following the birth of their first child.
The singer admits she has been shocked by the negative press attention since their relationship came to light, telling Britain’s Glamour magazine, “I was just sad, really, I mean where does all that hatred come from? And the anger? Maybe it’s jealousy. All I can think is these people must be unhappy.”
But the new mom insists the relationship is worth it — and is already plotting her future with the Hollywood star.
She adds, “Mel and I are very, very happy together. He’s an amazing person. I adore him. We are both very lucky.”
When asked whether she wants the couple to marry, she adds: “Yes. I hope so. Yes.”
