Whether she’s a democrat or a republican, the creative director of J.Crew Group Inc. is undoubtedly happy with Michelle Obama as First Lady.
According to a filing made with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Jenna Lyons received a special bonus of $1 million!
Strong sales in October prompted J. Crew last week to nearly double its outlook for fiscal third-quarter earnings, after a year of cost-cutting and inventory reduction.
Joining the company in 1990 as an assistant designer following an internship with Donna Karan, Lyons became its creative director in December 2007 and has helped steer the brand to popularity. It’s a favorite with the White House — Mrs. O. wore head to toe J.Crew while in London in April and J.Crew created specially-designed clothes for first daughters Malia and Sasha Obama for their father’s inauguration.
