The singer/actress was recently let go from the hit show Melrose Place. While the producers will not admit to firing Simpson, they have released statements saying she knew her character would not be around for too long in the series.
That’s contrary to the latest report which states that Ashlee feels devastated after being let go from her role on the CW series.
“Ashlee didn’t see it coming, and now she’s crushed,” a source has been quoted as saying. “She invested her heart and soul into the job. She feels like the rug has been pulled out from under her. She is struggling to hold her marriage together, dealing with motherhood and practically starving herself to look good. Ashlee’s friends are concerned that she’s headed for an emotional meltdown. She was desperate to establish herself as a serious actress, but now she’s worried that she’s failing.”
Ashlee’s marriage to rocker Pete Wentz is also said to be on the rocks.
The insider adds: “Ashlee is jealous of the groupies who throw themselves at Pete, and Pete is frustrated with Ashlee’s obsession with her looks and her career.”

I think the stories about her and Pete are crap. Anyone who I know that has worked with either of them says they are completely in love and the way they talk about each other seems like they are as well. I do think that Ashlee is probably pretty disappointed about Melrose though, she seemed really excited to be back on TV again.
